Are they fake?
I got a few Chinese coins in my collection.
I am curious if y'all think they are fake or not. I am really ignorant in this area of my collection and don't like relying on AI for an "authentication" check.
I have joined the club
Picked this up today at my LCS with only a $10 premium($196 melt - $206 out the door).
I've picked up about 70 oz of silver over the last 5 months or so and am happy to finally get my foot in the door with gold at a reasonable premium for a fractional piece.
1931 Panama Balboa
Saved this from the melt bin at a local shop.
Where would you grade it?
First fill Sandcast!
I got a flask and attempted a full cast! My other few attempts have been open faced pours.

Long way to go but it's a good start!
What - Recycled copper
3d printed piece to mold
Petro bond + Amazon flask
What do you think?
This is my 1834 Mexico - 8 Reales!
I don't know much about them and am curious where y'all would grade it!
First Sand Cast!
1.5 lb "Beskar bar" out of copper! Didn't have enough sand to do two halves of the mold so I did an open pour.
The more I look, the more interesting it gets - 3 Cent Nickel
Significant wood grain and what I thought was just a die cud, looks to be a die shatter!
Streaks on coin - I am ignorant
I've been picking up mostly world junk silver the last 4 months but I am curious as to what the streaks on this coin are?
They look too patterned and straight to be cleaning marks. What would make these streaks normally?
One of these things is not like the other!
I bought a small bag of dimes at a pawn shop today and didn't take a good look at it until I got in the car. Turns out one of the 4 was a 3 cent nickel! It's not in terrible shape either.
First Dragon!
Another venture to the spot bin at the local shop. I've been looking for a moment to get a dragon priced well from a place I trust and today was the day.
I like to shop the "spot" tray at my local coin and bullion shop. It was my lucky day to see a boat load of Britannias in there today!
Always nice to get a beautiful piece at spot.
Can you spot any of your favorites?
New to me!
It's nice to have even more history stacked on top of a piece of junk silver.
Sadly it seems pretty cleaned but this a nice coin my father decided was a good time to pass down to me.
I've gotten a nice recap from some AI tooling about this but would love to get some feedback from the real experts.
I have most of my silver out and raw(largely junk over Numismatic) but this seems like one I might want to put back in a flip or a capsule.
Recently had an Indian Head book passed to me. I decided to check the 1908 and 1909. Turns out, I have a 1909 S!!! Too bad it's the aftermarket "S" package 🤣🤣
