originally i was going to start this last week after doing underscores’ The Peace poster, but i got hit with a blank page syndrome bc idk what to put in the poster. however, i was able overcome it finally after watching their visualizer/lyric vid, yayyyy

the characters in the poster represent the artist themselves; ninajirachi & porter robinson. to picture their collab together, i’ve placed a kaomoji at the bottom which connects both posters together

vent poster. my life feels so damn monotonous these days. i go to school, attend classes, go home, and either doomscroll or do assignments. then, it got even worse when it started raining hard last thursday.

school got cancelled, great, but i have nothing to do at home but to doomscroll on reddit, instagram, youtube, etc. maybe i’m doomscrolling to numb myself and forget that i’m having this monotonous life feeling. either way, i don’t feel so fucking good.

every anti-ai posts and comments, from friends to strangers, is fueling my misanthropy, and i’m scared this is gonna be my personality. i thought i was already healing from this, but why am i shadowboxing again?

even worse is when the lights go out from the heavy downpour. jesus, i can’t bear this feeling of anger bc one: it’s out of my control, two: i’m so fucking scared that someone or something is behind me, and three: i can’t do much anything but sleep.

so, i had a hypothesis that i wanna test it out wherein i can make 2 very distinct posters just from using the same image. and these two songs gave me an opportunity to try it out

i started with a synthograph i’ve done thru moescape. but i forgot abt it for a while bc i was busy doing assignments and motion graphics (hence the lack of posters from me lately lol)

thankfully, i’ve done everything this week (i think), so i can finally make these 2 posters. welp, looks like it’s a correct hypothesis (^◡^)b

finally had the idea to make this haha (≧▽≦)

ok first off, the visuals in the music video are top tier. lots of visual eye candy, everything is synced to the beat, and overall, it feels like a rhythm game

and because of how peak the music video is, i kinda had a hard time translating the entire music video and just a static poster lol

then all of a sudden, i had a big eureka moment of using a colored grid with some elements occupying some cells in the grid. and that was like a great idea i’ve had!

originally the character is supposed to be overlaid above the grid, but I thought it's a bit boring (cause i’ve done this countless times before), so instead i integrated her inside of the grid (^_~)b

imma be honest, her new album is super dope, and (quite frankly) really cool new aesthetic. i especially like the Times New Roman typeface that she used for the singles that lead up to the album ( ˘⁠ —˘) ~↓↑↓↑

today’s poster led me to a trend over on tiktok called #healing, featuring images edited with big blue eyes and stickers like “YASS” and “#GOALS”

i love seeing this trend, especially after spending two weeks of crying, doomscrolling, and feeling lonely as a multimedia artist. it’s a reminder that these sad feelings don’t last forever

right now, making these posters (and occasional album covers) felt like a healing process. my guidance counselor suggests i turn these feelings into works like these and give it a name, and i did

so note to self: always choose healing, there’s always light in darkness, things will get better in the end <3
