Cup of ice?

Help me out here. I’m not from Harlem, not even from the city actually but i’ve been working here all summer. Where I’m from, we go to a store, we buy a drink, and we open the drink and drink that drink, simple.

But ever since I started working in Harlem I noticed that every other person buys a drink and pours it into a cup of ice? At least at my job nobody drinks from the bottle, instead they pour up into a cup of ice.

Is this a Harlem thing, a city thing, or nothing at all? I understand the logistics of you buy a beverage, and you want it ice cold, so you pour it over ice, but ive never seen this in other neighborhoods, definitely not downtown most places don’t even have cups of ice.

So what’s going on?

Peace from 145th

Largest DVD collection available at public library?

Hey all I have a kind of niche question but is there a particular library branch that has just an absolute huge DVD section? I enjoy browsing similar to how we used to do a video rental stores and I’m curious which location has the most to offer.

BONUS question is does anyone know of any libraries that rent things other than books, CDs, and DVDs that maybe I’ve overlooked that would be interesting to the general public

Where to find Miller High Life 12 packs in the East Village?

Edit: Bottles

Like the topic title says, I’ve been searching for a 12 pack of bottles, and for whatever reason I can’t find it. Cans I’ve found, but I’m specifically looking for the bottles. Bonus points if someone knows where to find the pony’s as well.

Odysee in 35mm gang rise up! Angelika East

Yeah, it’s not IMAX 70mm at Lincoln Center, yes Angelika East sightlines aren’t the best and we’ll be hearing the subway every 7 minutes throughout the film, but who cares. I wasn’t willing to jump through any hoops to catch this film, so seeing it easily in 35mm, prime time with a good seat on Thursday night works for me.

Bars with vinyl jukebox

Hey y’all, I’ve been looking for a place that has not just a jukebox, but one of those that play 45s. I remember before covid going to a spot near crown heights but forgot the place and only god knows if it’s survived. Maybe goes without saying but I’m looking for a WORKING one, I know a few places have them for decorative purposes but I want to actually see it going in real life. Thanks !
