I just read a book by Beth Revis (Chaotic Orbits) from DAW, which is in the Astra publishing family.

I liked it a lot so i looked for more from her. Shes got a book coming in January (Dragon of the Deep) but its from Sourcebooks, which is in the Penguin family.

I never paid much attention to publishers before i joined NG. So i dont know if authors often have books coming out from two different publishers? Both books are SFF, so its not like a big genre switch.

I saw a video on FB showing smoke at Great Northern. Cannot find any news online yet.

I grew up in central NJ in the 70s & 80s. Half of my family was Italian-American. No one i knew back then said “red sauce joint.” We didn’t even say “red sauce.” It was tomato sauce or pasta sauce or gravy or marinara, etc.

Im wondering if “red sauce joint” is specifically regional, or if its from a certain era.

Nothing is happening, I’m bored, and i dont like books that put me into the mind of a creep.

Reviews i looked at indicate that this slow pace continues for most of the book, and Dahye only gets some kind of revenge in the last few chapters. True?

To make a long story short my girlfriend doesn’t have money for trips considering she has kids. Her paychecks are only $400 due to the fact that she works two days a week. I am the sole provider in this relationship. I make enough to take care of her and her kids and myself included. She used a good portion of her taxes to book a nice room in Atlanta. There’s a concert that she wants to go to and she’s planning on staying for 4 days. The thing is we both live in Jersey and the only way to get to Atlanta is catching a flight. I was excited thinking I was going to Atlanta but I was informed by her that I’m not welcomed. Supposedly her female cousin is supposed to go with her. Recently she found out her cousin might not be able to make it. Once again I said to her I can handle the trip but I would like to come. Again I was told that she needs to get away from everyone including me. Today I put my foot down and told her that I will not pay for a trip that I am not welcomed at. As expected I was called controlling, I was even called a narcissist. I said to her I’m controlling and a narcissist because you booked a trip you couldn’t afford. Knowing who I am I would never plan a trip that I couldn’t afford. What makes it worse the room is not refundable which means she lost $500 booking it. I feel like I did the right thing but in her eyes I’m manipulative because I don’t agree to her terms. What should be the next step? Any advice would be very much appreciated.
