Feeling discouraged as an applicant.

For some context I am a 21 year old student who withdrew from a sonography program. I dropped because I realized I was no longer passionate about sonography as I started a job a nurse tech. I am feeling discouraged as I still need one more pre req to apply to nursing school. That will push me back a year until the new cycle starts. I am not concerned about not getting in as my school is direct admit i’m just feeling discouraged about changing paths at a later age than new high school grads. Do any nurses have any advice on combatting this feeling?

feeling neglected by my boyfriend

¡ (21F) feel neglected by my boyfriend (24M) due to his poker playing, for context me and my boyfriend have been together for half a year now. my boyfriend enjoys poker and has been interested in it prior to us dating. i knew that he was into it but not to this extent. i recently have been feeling neglected by his playing. recently he seems to be playing every single night. we are currently long distance (1hr and a half) so we don't spend much time together as i am in school.
The time we do share is calling each other at night to watch a movie or just hang. I feel neglected as he is spending our time together at a casino playing cards. it makes me feel disconnected with him and i feel like he used to prioritize me better.
i recently told him that i wanted to watch a movie that night and he said he couldn't because he was going to go play cards that night. i told him that sucks because he played the following night and won a lot and that i wanted to spend time with him.
i feel like he got defensive as he said that i was trying to make him feel bad but in reality i just miss my boyfriend and want to hang with him after a long day and it sucks he doesn't feel the same although he says he does. he also said he understands when im busy and can't hang. what would you do in my situation. in context he does not work but he is in his gap year of apply for med school so this is his income.
if you were in my situation what would you do? is it possible he’s cheating on me?

TLDR: My boyfriend is a playing poker every night and gets defensive everytime i say something. Feeling disconnected.

would it be justified to break up over this?

i (21f) am disappointed by boyfriend (24m) playing in a poker tournament before I move for school

what would you do in my situation? for context i (21 F) am about to move an hour and a half away in a three weeks. my boyfriend (24 M) entered in a poker tournament that is two weeks long in Vegas after doing well in a preliminary tournament.
i am feeling disappointed that he is playing in it as we are about to go long distance.

it makes upset because i know there will be little to no time for us to spend time together as i will be in school full time and working. he says it will not be much different than it already is in terms of seeing each other but i am taking a much rigorous course load along with clinical. i am also anxious it will strain our relationship and i just want to spend this time with him but he is in a poker room 12 hours a day.

I brought this up and response was that he has a life also and will be thinking about it if he does not do it. In response I said he should do it as i don't want to be controlling even though i'm disappointed he won't be able to be there when i move in or before.

it just feels like he is making little effort to see me before i leave or it just consists of poker. It feels like i am not a priority in his life even if we've only been together for 6 months.

i (21f)am upset by boyfriend (24M) is playing in a poker tournament before I move.

for context i am a 21f about to move an hour and a half away in a three weeks. my boyfriend who is a 24/M entered in a poker tournament that is is around two to four weeks long in Vegas after doing well in a preliminary tournament.
i am feeling disappointed that he is playing in it as we are about to go long distance. we have been together for 6 months.

it makes upset because i know there will be little to no time for us to spend time together as i will be in school full time and working. he says it will not be much different than it already is in terms of seeing each other but i am taking a much rigorous course load along with clinical. i am also anxious it will strain our relationship and i just want to spend this time with him but he is in a poker room 12 hours a day. he does not play professionally and just as a hobby.

I brought this up and response was that he has a life also and will be thinking about it if he does not do it. In response I said he should do it as i don't want to be controlling even though i'm disappointed he won't be able to be there when i move in or before.

what would you do if you feel neglected even though he is passionate about playing in these tournaments. it just feels like he is making little effort to see me before i leave or it just consists of poker. It feels like i am not a priority in his life even if we've only been together for 6 months. would you feel guilty for feeling bad about it?

AITAH for being upset by boyfriend is playing in a poker tournament before I move.

for context i (21 F) am about to move an hour and a half away in a three weeks. my boyfriend (24 M) entered in a poker tournament that is two weeks long.

i am feeling disappointed that he is playing in it as we are about to go long distance. even before the competition our hang consisted of me sitting behind him playing cards.

it makes upset because i know there will be little to no time for us to spend time together as i will be in school full time. i am also anxious it will strain our relationship and i just want to spend this time with him but he is in a poker room 9 hours a day.

along with that on one of his free days he decided to play in a separate poker tournament compared to actually spending time with me.

is it wrong to be upset and neglected even though he is passionate about playing in these tournaments. it just feels like he is making little effort to see me before i leave or it just consists of poker.

hello reddit i was wondering if i could get your advice on this situation. me and my boyfriend have been together for 4 months. would you recommend leaving him?

it’s starting to feel like there is little to no effort into our relationship besides having sex and watching movies via discord. i think he has planned one date on valentine’s day and i have been the one to make the plan of all the other dates.

i mentioned that it is bothering me that he never really makes plans to have a date and his response was “then just say you want to go on a date” i can see how that makes sense but i mentioned wanting surprise dates and how i felt like i was the one putting in all the effort and he got defense saying that im degrading him and saying that he doesn’t do anything along with asking if i know i don’t have to be in this relationship.

i’m starting to feel like im just his fucking buddy and not his partner. he never really does anything romantic such as write me notes or even compliment me. he even went out of his way to say “is it bad an old lady compliments you more than i do” when i mentioned an old lady complimenting me. it feels like he only compliments me during sex or calls me baby during it. it makes me feel a little undeserving of it.

this really sucks because he did put effort into us when we were a situationship such as getting me flowers so i don’t really know what to do. i do see a future with him but i want a partner that actually is romantic.

TL;DR: feeling disappointed that my boyfriend never puts in effort anymore like he used to. contemplating leaving for someone who does.

hello! should i break up with my boyfriend? for context me and and my boyfriend have been together for 4 months. the other day he assumed i was mad at him based on my "tone" i explained that i was not mad and it was just my tone. he did not believe me and i asked why he didn' then said that i am always mad at him. to be fair i have gotten upset at him recently but i explained i am getting mad for a reason but it just seems like does not understand that. it is honestly really frustrating. it even makes me want to talk to him less so sometimes i just say i'm not mad when in reality i am upset so it does not start a whole argument or play into the fact that i'm "always" mad. has anyone else gone through this? in context most of the fights have been him making immature comments for example we were talking with a friend about threesomes and i said i wouldn't do it and he (i hope jokingly) said dang it!. There was another time where we were watching a movie with a woman's breasts and he jokingly said. "i like this movie!". it all feels super disrespectful not only the "jokes" but saying that I'm always mad it him even after i explain it was for a reason. along with that i've gotten upset over him still texting a female friend who thought they were dating while we were together and he totally brushed it off like it is nothing. i really do see a future with him but stuff like this is so frustrating.
TL;DR: My boyfriend says i am always mad it him but i am mad at him for valid reasons such as off handed jokes. i feel frustrated but i want to make this relationship work.
