The Company by Robert Littrell
Really good book, and if you like spy novels I highly recommend it. One of the primary characters is named Harvey Torriti and is remarkably similar to Jackson Lamb. Cuts his teeth in post-war Berlin, constantly drinking but seemingly never drunk, overweight with a slovenly appearance but remarkably fit underneath it all, irreverent field genius. Interestingly, Torriti was heavily based on the actual CIA Berlin Station Chief during the height of the Cold War, William King Harvey, who was a fascinating guy and worth reading about in his own right.
