First Olderbest order came in....

First: Has anyone bought the cotton seersucker shirts from Olderbest/Time Catcher? The fit is pretty much perfect out of the package - I'm just wondering if I should size up in case it shrinks.

I read various posts from this sub to help inform sizing for this order from the sub-brands of Bronson, Non-Stock, and Time Catcher. Overall, the advice for most items is:

  1. Read the fit/size guide for each individual item.

  2. If you're between sizes, err on the side of going up.

The Bronson Breton Stripe long sleeve, Non-Stock cotton climbing pants, and Time Catcher 1-wash jeans were exactly as per the size chart. Just a smidge oversized to account for slight shrinkage in a cold wash.

Being between sizes, the seersucker shirt I expected to be a bit large but it fits perfectly. Now I'm just concerned about shrinkage.

The Time Catcher oatmeal Henley I expected to be perfect or a tad large but it's a bit snug. This one, I'm planning to exchange for a larger size.

I hope this adds to the hive mind of knowledge. I waited about 2 years to place an order with these guys and I'm very happy with the quality and cuts of the items.

Am I SOL with last shape/sizing?

I looked at Parkhurst Boots for the last couple years, and thought that its founding story and progression through the pandemic and beyond was a cool story. With the announcement that wide sizes are going away, I thought it was time to pull the trigger and get a pair.

My pair in 10.5EE came today. The width at the ball, length, and how they hug the heel and mid-foot seem right on. But my damn duck feet and outside little toes just don't fit in the 618 last. I don't really want to size up and have to take up the space somehow - I did that with my Trumans (and the heel on those is *hella* wide) and they've become sloppy. I might be stuck with Munson lasts for the rest of my life. Or maybe the 602M would have worked better?

It's another spring - can we get more people involved in eradicating foxtail grass?

I read some posts from some months ago and found the Foxtail eRADication Crue. There are some *huge* patches that have sprung up, threatening pets and native plants.

PS: Any tool libraries that have weed whackers?

Requirements for construction site next door?

I live in a small apartment building and the house next door was torn down to build chock-a-block townhouses or condos.

The only fencing between properties was removed.

The temporary cyclone fencing at the front of the property has fallen over onto the sidewalk multiple times and blocked it. It fell onto cars parked there at least once.

Unhoused people are frequently moving through the property and have used it to get to and from our property, almost breaking into our unit the other day.

The construction team stand around wherever they want on our property and yesterday even left a chainsaw and other tools just sitting in our parking lot.

Now with no fence and no barrier, our cars are getting sprayed with dirt and rocks from the bulldozing and excavation. And, there's a drop-off of several feet where the fence has been taken down and the other side dug down.

I'm finding a lot about zoning and permits and what's allowed to be built, but not about how to secure a site. Any experience or suggestions where to find that?

Munson last sizing

If I'm a 10.5EE in Iron Rangers (even if they almost feel short) and bang-on 10.5E in most lasts of PNW boots, what size would you recommend to me?
