Indiana Moctoe Boot - Dark Brown Lychee Leather - Initial Impression

I’ve always loved the look and feel of the Indiana Moctoe Boot, but finding a dark brown version that matched what I had in mind wasn’t as easy as I expected. I was specifically after something close to the look of the Alden 403. From Luosjiet’s lineup, the closest options were the dark brown teacore and the dark brown lychee. The brown pull up felt closer to the medium brown tone of the 405, so after a lot of internal debate, I ended up going with the dark brown lychee.

This is more of an initial impression since I’ve only had the pair for a few days. I do plan on making a more in-depth review after about a month of wear to really see how they hold up with regular use.

So far, the leather feels supple and soft. It’s noticeably different from the brown full grain pull up leather. It doesn’t have that stiffer feel, but it still feels durable and substantial on its own. Honestly, I barely felt any need for break-in the first time I wore them outside.

Looks-wise, the pebble grain is actually growing on me. At first, it was the main reason I hesitated to get this model, but after seeing more photos online and now owning a pair myself, I can say the texture is much more subtle in person. Some people compare it to scotch grain, which I can see, but aesthetically it reminds me more of Alden’s Regina calfskin. The texture isn’t overly pronounced or loud like traditional scotch grain — it’s more refined and understated.

With the feel of the leather combined with the texture, this pair really scratches the itch I had for a dark brown Indiana Moctoe. I do hope they eventually offer this color in their full grain pull up leather as well, but aside from that, I’m really enjoying the pair so far. Despite the textured leather, it actually feels a bit dressier because of the more uniform appearance. I also noticed that the collar doesn’t dig into my ankles the way the brown pull up version did, probably because of how much softer this leather is.

Overall, I’m enjoying them a lot so far, but I’ll still give them a month of proper wear before making a full review on how the leather really performs over time.

For now, here are some images showing how it looks under different lighting conditions.

Dark Brown Oiled Cowhide Reverse

Maybe a long shot, but do any of you own anything in the dark brown oiled reverse leather? I can't find any images here of how it looks in the flesh, or wears in.

I like the tone of the leather a lot, but the nap looks so short and pristine in the stock images that I can't get a sense of how it'll age.

Boondoker sizing question

Hi looking to purchase the TG Boondoker boots but not sure on sizing as I’m not sure the largest size 47 will fit

I typically wear a US 14 redbacks for work boots but they are on the loose size after breaking in so I’ve been thinking I should probably be in US 13s.

I tried on a set of US13 redwing iron rangers yesterday and they were a snug but comfortable fit. I’ve measured my foot at 305mm and I see the luosjiet leather insoles in 47 have a length of 311 so hoping that translates to the boots?

Don’t want to buy them if they are going to be too small. Any size 47 owners who can share their experience/sizing?

Thanks

Indy Boot wearers, what size in Red Wing IR's do you wear?

And obviously what size of Luosjiet Indy Boot do you wear, and how is the fit?

Reached out yesterday to this great community and got some great responses, however I'm in a state of confusion as I've been recommended 4 different sizes between the subreddit and Luosjiet support.

Help me out!

(I know...) Sizing help, I'm very confused.

I hope you can help. I would love to order the Luosjiet Indy Boot but I'm getting lost in the sizing information and struggling to make sense of it all.

I have measured my bare foot, and it comes to 25cm length and around 10.5cm width. Please refer to the pictures in the comment - both feet came out the same.

Here is some information on the sizing of other shoes I have:

Adidas/Nike: UK 8

Reebock Club C/New Balance 990: UK 7.5

Red Wing Iron Ranger: UK 6.5 - snug but comfortable with thinner socks

Red Wing Moc 1907: UK7 - snug but comfortable with thinner socks

I like my boots to be on the slightly snugger side - especially as I'm a shorter guy and boots can look a little awkward on my slight frame. I would love advice on what size would work and please bear in mind I'm in the UK so I'm working with UK sizing here.

Thank you.

T.G.Escape Boondoker Boot - luosjiet®boots - Yellow Brown Oiled Cowhide Reverse(Short Hair) 42M

Iron Ranger 8.5E, I chose 42M T.G.E Boots. When I first started wearing it, my feet felt a little tight, and after a week, it was completely broken in. The workmanship and materials have maintained the consistent high level of Luosjiet. So far, I am very satisfied and look forward to my next pair.

Brown Indiana Moc Toe - 6 months in!

I want to thank the customer service because they got my size right on the first try, which was what I was most worried about and they turned out to be perfect for my feet. They were very stiff at first, but that didn’t put me off. Now I could even sleep in them :)

My Luosjiet size for the Indys is 40D. The foot is hugged on the sides with enough room in the toe box and even though I apparently tighten the laces to death, they’re very comfortable even when worn all day. And I don’t need to re-tie them.

Here are some measurements: the max length of my foot from heel to toe is ~25.6 cm, and the max width is ~11 cm. Since I don’t have the possibility to take additional measurements of my foot “professionally” I’ll just stick with these. I don’t even know my Brannock size but usually I’m US 8 with Adidas and Nike and my average EU sneaker size is 41. Planning to pull the trigger on the Yellow Brown Reverse very soon.

Any questions are welcome!

Natural Chromexcel

Does Lousjiet have any leathers like natural chromexcel? Looking to do another custom boot order and that is one of my favorite boot leathers, wondering of they have anything similar.

Indiana Moc Toe Custom 42D

Been wearing these beauties (Brick Red) 2 weeks now and they are becoming the most comfortable boots to date. Sizing of 42D is spot on for my Brannock 9.5E feet with some hard break in needed as leather is thick. Could get them in 42E or 42.5D for immediate comfort (especially instep) but laces would touch on top of quarters as with thin socks they get very close now. Length wise my toes are exactly were the stitches start on the inside perimeter, no touching top or front and can stretch toes sideways without touching left or right. I am planning for a 2nd pair of indiana boots in black and a pair of service cap toes for daughter. VFM

Munson or Fight last Sizing Help

My Brannock length is at 10.5, but widths have always been a issue for me. I've tried out Redwing Moctoes in 11E at the store, and they still felt cramped and painful to me. The boot that actually fit me well among the PNW brands is a Nicks with a munson last at 10FF.

With that in mind, it's still a bit hard to tell whether to go for a 10E or 10.5E in LJ boots for the Munson/Fight boots.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Escape boondocker sizing question

Hi, I'm interested in the escape boondockers. I normally wear an 11.5d in red wing iron rangers and the fit is perfect. According to the luos jiet sizing chart, I should go for a size 46 accordingly. That said, my EU size is normally 45 and I'm a little worried a 46 will be too big. Anyone got any experience they can share? Thanks in advance!

Classic Paratroop sizing question

I wasn't able to find a shop with a brannock device where I live. My foot length is 270mm & width is 102mm. I have a pair of Thursday Captain in 40.5EU/7.5US but they are tight especially in the toes. My New Balance sneakers size is 42EU.

Should I go with 8 or 8.5 for the Classic Paratroop?

Sizing question Almond No. 2 last

I'm struggling on what size for an Almond No. 2 last.

My feet measure 10.25 inches (26 Cm) in length - approx. 9 in Brannock

4.2 inches (10.6 cm) wide - approx. 2E average instep

I wear 8.5E in Grant Stone Diesel's Leo last, and they fit well.

In Redwing Iron Rangers I am much shorter, 7.5EE for some reason idk. With Redwing toe space and EE, I suspect this isn't that comparable to Lousjiet single E Almond No. 2 last fitting.

I'm leaning towards a 41E, but depending on feedback might also consider 41.5E or even a 40.5E.

I like a snug fit,

Any suggestions, feedback, info? Thanks.

Sizing help on Munson last

Hoping to get a little help on sizing since this will be the first time I’m looking into a Munson last. I got measured with the machines that Red Wing uses so I’m not sure how accurate it is. But my sizing came out to 9 3E, knowing that Munson lasts run wider do I get the same size? I did try a Red Wing 9 3E and it fits fine, a bit loose but a 2E was tight. Thanks for any advice

Munson Logger sale 12E

Munson logger black waxed flesh £150 eBay listing on request.

I've worn these boots for nearly a month, and after a while, I found they weren't for me. The wide toe box is great, but the waist was just a bit too strict around the outer midfoot.

As a little review, they're great, solid boots with good materials, great quality control, and thick leather. Unfortunately, just not very wide in the midfoot. Any questions, please ask.

There is an eBay listing on request.

Sizing Advises

Hello everyone,

I'm a 12.5 B on Brannock device (12 heel to toe and 12.5 heel to ball).

My foot is 29 cm long and quite on the normal to narrow side.

I mainly wear in Red Wing 11.5 D (Iron Rangers or Moc Toe).

Nicks on the HNW last I'm 12 B (Overlander mainly).

White's on the 55 last I'm 11.5 D (Cutter, Cruiser and Logger).

I'm mainly into rounded Munson last boots as I really like to look and design and also even if I do have a narrow foot I like to have some space in the toe box.

Based on your experience which size do you think would work for me...?!

Thanks in advance and wish you all a pleasant day and week.

Peace,

Õnûth
