How will customization in MW4 be for players who don't buy Battle Passes/bundles?

I’ve been getting that itch to play Call of Duty again lately. Honestly, no other shooter has really scratched the itch for me since Black Ops 3, and I miss having a solid arcade FPS to dump hours into. Battlefield 6, for example, doesn't do it for me anymore and neither does Halo Infinite.

That being said, I have a huge issue with full-price (€70+) games that treat you like you’re playing a Free-To-Play mobile game. I cannot stand loading up a game I paid full price for, only to be constantly shoved aggressively toward $20 operator bundles, Battle Passes, and premium stores while the basic earnable stuff looks like absolute garbage.

I don't know if anyone has an answer to this as well, the game'sn not out yet, but how good or bad do you think the customization will be in MW4? Can someone who doesn't want to spend any money on cosmetics still look like they've spent hours grinding the game, or will all the cool-looking camos be trapped behind a paywall?

I know there will be mastery skins here and there, but if that's all we're gonna get while the animated or special-looking skins are paywalled, I'd hate that. Gimme camos and skins unlockable through challenges and I'll gladly grind my way towards them!

Appreciate any thoughts!

Disclaimer: Yes, I know cosmetics and battle passes are completely optional and don't affect gameplay. I know I can technically "just ignore them." But a sense of progression, aesthetic customization, and not feeling like a second-class citizen in a game I paid full price for does matter to me and affects my overall enjoyment.

Becoming a father in 9 months, super scared of intrusive and controlling MIL!

My wife and I did a pregancy test over the weekend and surprise, we're pregnant! I'm super happy with the news and so is my wife! However, one thing already bothers me. And that is my mother in law. She is pretty darn intrusive.

We have a dog, Rosie, who is now a little over a year old. When she was a puppy we often dropped her off at my in-laws on Thursays as that was the day me and my wife were at work till late. Soon it became extremely clear to me that MIL started seeing our dog as her own. She has a picture of her as her phone wallpaper, always takes Rosie on her lap and doesn't want to let go or give her back and always starts telling stories about how much fun she had with Rosie on her Thurday.

It even went as far as me being litteraly pushed aside once. Rosie was digging in the yard and I was standing up to correct her. But no, MIL stood up, walked faster than me towards Rosie amd corrected her. I was absolutely baffled. I got into a massive fight afterwards with my wife about this and told her I felt ignored and like an idiot.

Now towards the future, I feel like with our upcoming child this will be 1000x worse. I am so incredibly scared she will start seeing herself as the third parent. I can already see her picking up the child, comforting it, learning the child stuff, all things me and my wife should be doing. I visualise the child's birthday and me wanting to unwrap gifts with ths child but MIL stepping in and wanting to do it instead.

I am beyond scared and definitely in need of some advice. I'm not scared of becoming a dad at all, I'm scared of being replaced as a dad by MIL. Scared that someone else takes what's clearly ours to enjoy the most. And I definitely don't want to take the experience of MIL (and my own parents) of becoming a grandparent for the first time. But I feel like MIL wants to enter the circle that's meant for me, my wife and my child. And that, is not okay.

(If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask. I didn't want to make my post any longer)

Stop being a downer, enjoy Maiden!

Don't know why but this subreddit falls into a super deep pit of depression every so often. All I read in comments and posts nowadays is "They're done', "It's the end" and "This tour really was their last".

Please people, stop with all the negativity! When it's time for Maiden to retire there will be a long official statement from them followed by a long tour (probably) and THEN we can all mourn Maiden and talk about how great we had it! But now? Maiden, and the members, have told us more than once in the past year or so that they are not intending on quitting any time soon! Can we please just keep that in mind?!

Just enjoy the music, enjoy seeing Maiden live when you can and when the time comes, it comes. Until then, just stay positive and quit the negative bullshit!

Please, Rammstein, whatever you do, please don't do a 360° stage for the next tour!

Recently got a lot of Metallica concert posts on Facebook and Instagram and there's on thing that stands out to me a lot. If you're in the wrong spot, you're REALLY in the wrong spot. James' mics are set up at specific points and while, yes, they do walk around a bit, there's a very big chance you will never see the people performing as they're always on the wrong side of the stage. Read a post from someone who never got to see James at all as he was always too far away from them.

I REALLY hope that, whatever Rammstein comes up with for their next tour, it won't be a 360° stage. Not only do I think that wouldn't fit Rammstein's performance at all (mostly thinking about songs like Mein Teil and Pussy), I hate how incredibly bad the show looks from some angles/ positions. I would love a change over last time's stage, even though it was amazing!

Back of my vest all filled up - After VS Before pics

About a year ago I considered the back of my vest done. But, I felt like it was still way too empty. Problem was, I didn't have enough bands that I enjoyed to put on there. People were telling me I has a pretty mainstream taste (maybe I still do, no idea, I'm good with it either way)

Now, around a year later I discovered and saw a lot more bands live and filled up the back! Extremely happy with how it looks and feels now! There is still some room next to the Anthrax logo and next to the Dismember logo and below Anthrax, next to Rammstein and I am considering putting in studs but not 100% sure on that one. But so far, so good for now. I'm really proud of it!

Could you imagine the current stage setup (with the screen) with reunion era song?!

Recently got back into some of the reunion era albums and after seeing Maiden live in Amsterdam I started thinking. What would the visuals on that enormous screen look like for reunion era songs?

And honestly, could you imagine? Songs like Dance of Death getting a complete visual story like Rime got. Or having the cover art from AMOLAD get animated like the Seventh Son one. Final Frontier Eddie growling towards the screen?

I have no clue if the screens will be used again after the RFYL tour, or if Maiden ever decides to get some of the reunion era stuff on the setlist again. But the idea of it excites me so much! I'd love to see that!

I'm still mad/ sad Senjutsu didn't get a proper world tour...

Senjutsu was the first album that released after becoming a fan of Iron Maiden for me (I know, late to the party). So naturally I hold it very high. I still look back on it with a huge smile on my face as I absolutely love and adore that album so much! I remember it arriving on release day and I listened to the whole vinyl while drinking a Trooper beer, at 11 in the morning... 😅

Anyhow, I know we didn't get a "proper" Senjutsu tour because of Covid and because Maiden wanted to finish the Legacy of the Beast tour. But looking at some footage of the Book of Souls tour and how incredibly cool that one was production wise (in my opinion) it's very sad we didn't get a proper Senjutsu world tour.

We did get the furst 3 songs of the Senjutsu album during the Legacy of the Beast tour in 2022, which in hindsight, sucked in that parricular setlist. It was my first time seeing Maiden but I hated that setlist in comparison to the 2018 Legacy setlist. And then we got the Future Past Tour which included some more Senjutsu songs but I feel those were HUGELY overshadowed by the Somewhere in Time theme/ songs. I don't know anyone who went to that tour because it had Senjutsu songs in it because everyone went crazy for the return of Somewhere in Time (including me).

I personally hoped Maiden would have done a proper Senjutsu World Tour after Legacy 2022 with a setlist comparable to the Book of Souls tour; Some new songs and some classic songs. Using the Japanese Temple and theme throughout the entire set. Could've been a fantastic production!

What do you think?

Edit: After reading some comments I want to clarify that I meant that I would have loved to see a Senjutsu themed tour rather than a "hybrid" tour like Future Past. More comparable to other album tours like Final Frontier or Book of Souls. For Final Frontier we had the entire space themed stage and props, Book of Souls had the Mayan temple. Would have loved to see the Japanese temples from Legacy be there for an entire set instead of just 3 songs. I am NOT saying Senjutsu didn't get enough attention live as, many of you have commented, they played a bunch of songs from that album!

Got Nergal's book gifted a while ago only to now see it has an autograph in it. Any info?

Got Nergal's autobiography "Confessions of a Heretic" from my parents for Christmas a while ago. Was intending on reading it and when I opened the book I saw an autograph!

Looked it up and definitely looks like Nergal's signature, except for the small "XV" in the bottom right corner.

Anyone know if Nergal personally signed this, of this is a standard thing (as in, everyone's version of this book has that), a limited run or if this was done with an autopen? Can't find anything online about it.

Official store merch quality?

Thinking about buying the Run For Your Lives World Tour hooded vest from the official store but with shipping included I'm looking at a €91 vest. That's heavy honestly. The only way for me to personally justify that price is if it's absolute top notch quality and not just Gildan Heavy cotton with a print slapped on it and I'm paying for brand (or band in this case) over quality.

I bought a shirt months ago at Behemoth's official store and that one is very, very high quality! Super light but firm fabric, inner lining, top quality print. Paid around €40 for it but it's 100% worth it. If the Maiden vest is the same quality-wise then I would gladly spend some more for that!

So, anyone have any experience with this?

What time to arrive for First to the Barrier?

In the mail I recieved it says I will get instructions at around 12 o'clock regarding the FTTB in Amsterdam this Wednesday.

However, me and my dad expect to arrive there at around 3 to 3:30. Can anyone tell me if this is on time or of this is perhaps too late?

I've never had FTTB so I don't want to miss out. Doors for general admission open at 6 but for all I know the email will say something like "Be here in an hour or you're too late". Can't imagine but again, I have no idea...

First to the Barrier question

Got an email today that I won FTTB for the Amsterdam show. Of course I am beyond excited but I have a question:

I read somewhere that showing up early, even if you won FTTB, doesn't get you in earlier. Meaning that if I show up at 12 o'clock (so around 6 hours before the doors open) and other people that won FTTB show up at 4 o'clock chances are they can be let in earlier than me. Mainly because of a sort of hat draw system where you get a randomly assigned number?

Is this true? Me and my dad, who I'll be taking to the show, always show up really early. I'd personally hate it if there's a hate draw system and we pull number 60 or so and still end up in the back. I'd love to be center stage honestly and would hate to be in the far end corner of the stage where I can't see the show properly.

Thanks in advance!

How hard is it to get a band members autograph at a show?

I will be attenting the Amsterdam show on June 10th. It will be my 4th time seeing Maiden live. And I was wondering, how hard is it to get a band members autograph?

Specifically, Steve Harris'. I really would want to get a Maiden tattoo and would absolutely LOVE it if he signed my arm and I get Eddie tattooed with Steve's autograph below it. It's a big dream, and maybe an impossible one, but maybe some of you here have some experience with this?

I know that I saw someone in the queue once that showed people a picture of him and Steve from a few hours earlier. The dude got a sweatband from him. So I'd say there's chance but maybe it's more of a one in a million one? What do you think?

I signed myself up for the FTTB competition as well, and was even thinking (if I'd win) to bring a sign that says "Steve, can I get your autograph on my arm". But I think the chance is so small that it'll probably not happen at all!
