Update: Glad I didn’t have to fake being a 21F to find some humanity here. Thank you

Hey everyone,

I wanted to put out a quick update to my previous post and say a massive thank you to this sub. To be honest, when I posted earlier, I was at my absolute breaking point.

Moving from Kerala to Yeshwanthpur, I found myself completely isolated without a single friend. To give you the full picture of what I’ve been fighting through: I am a cancer patient, and on top of that, just 3 days ago, my world completely shattered when I found out my 5-year relationship was over because she was cheating on me.

Mentally and physically, I was totally devastated, drained, and non-functional. When I finally gathered the strength to seek help from a psychiatrist here, the experience was deeply dismissive—they just handed me a prescription for sleeping pills instead of actually listening to the trauma and health battles I am facing. I didn't want to sedate myself; I just needed a human connection.

Feeling completely invisible, broken, and desperate, I made that post. And honestly, the way you all stepped up blew me away.

My DMs were flooded with genuine warmth, empathy, and support. You all listened when a professional wouldn't, and you proved that there are still amazing people here who care when someone is down. To everyone who reached out to check on me, offer advice, or just connect—thank you. You have no idea how much you helped me get through this dark phase over the last couple of days.Proud to be a part of this community now. Thanks again!

Sad reality of this sub: Do I really need to change my title to "21F" just to find a friend or get some support here?

Hey everyone,

I recently moved to Bengaluru (Yeshwanthpur) from Kerala and honestly, I’ve been going through a really rough, intense situation for the last 3 days. I’m part of a research group here, but mentally I’ve been feeling completely drained and isolated. I even tried seeking professional help, but the doctor just dismissed me with sleeping pills, which I don't want to take. I just needed some real human connection.

I posted about this earlier asking if anyone would like to connect or talk, but it got absolutely zero response.

It’s honestly disappointing to see how the algorithm and the community work here. If a post starts with "21F" or "23F", the comment section blows up with hundreds of people offering help, meetups, and advice within minutes. But when a guy genuinely opens up about struggling alone in the city, he is completely invisible.

I’m not trying to hate on anyone, but I hope the mods and the members see the issue here. Mental health and loneliness don't check your gender before hitting you.

I am still just looking for some genuine friends in or around Yeshwanthpur to talk to, vent to, or grab a coffee with (gender doesn't matter). If there is anyone out there who sees past the title and actually wants to connect, please drop a comment or DM me.

Looking to make some friends in Bengaluru (Yeshwanthpur) / Going through a rough patch

Hi everyone,

I'm a guy from Kerala who recently moved to Bengaluru, specifically living around Yeshwanthpur. Right now, I don't really have any friends here, and to be honest, I'm going through a pretty tough phase in my life. It feels like there is no one around to talk to, share things, or just offer a bit of comfort.

I am currently part of a research group, but mentally, I've been feeling completely drained and unfit to focus on anything lately. I even tried seeking professional help, but the psychiatrist I visited just prescribed me sleeping pills, which I really don't want to rely on.

What I truly need right now is human connection. I just want to find some genuine friends here to talk to, hang out with, or vent to—gender doesn't matter at all.

If anyone is around Yeshwanthpur or down to connect, grab a coffee, or just chat, please feel free to hit me up or drop a comment.

Thanks for reading.
