My family is staying at Port Cunnington Lodge in July. My wife and I will have a few extra days before we get there to venture around. We will likely be leaving from Detroit, passing through Toronto. But I also wouldn’t mind taking the scenic route from Sault St Marie and then head east if it’s worthwhile. If there are any must stop places along either of these routes please let me know.

Right now I’ve got 580k points. My plan is to pay off my (excessive) student loans and celebrate with a trip with my wife. I owe quite a bit so I’m shooting for early 2028 to be done with the loans. By that time I will probably have around 800k points. Another thing I am hoarding is dental scrap lol. I am a dentist and will use this to fund the vacation. I will likely have about 6-8k in dental scrap at that time.

I would like to hear the experiences of others in terms of “ balling out” on points and what amount got you what.
