Specifically targeted to the men who prefer getting to know someone better platonically before deciding whether or not you’re interested romantically- how do you go about this without risking a new friendship you made?

Visiting and staying near Beale Street in downtown Memphis this weekend for Memorial Day with some friends in our late 20s. We like sports, live music, good beer/drinks, and good food but we’re not looking for anything fancy. What kind of events are happening in Memphis(preferably downtown) to take advantage of the holiday weekend?
