Do you write to chase down a feeling?

I need to know if anyone does this, or if I've been thinking myself a writer this whole time for the wrong reason.

When I began writing, it was because there was a feeling other books made me feel, and a feeling certain stories in movies and shows made me feel, that I wanted to emulate, and make others feel.

In other words, it wasn't "Ooo, I have a really good story to tell!" or something like that. It was, "this feeling...whenever I think of it, I want it. I want it forever." And this is almost a way to keep participating in it.

But I've just now realized maybe this means I'm not interested in writing, I'm just interested in chasing down this feeling that certain other stories/experiences, regardless of form, made me feel.

Is anyone else like this? If you are not, what motivates you to write?

To be clear it's something magical btw, I wouldn't know how to describe it. But it's not eros, to be clear.

The Red Sox just won a 13 inning game in which they were not winning for a single pitch.

Another neat fact:

They were in a score-or-die situation in the:

9th

10th

11th

12th

And came through all four times.

Another couple of neat facts:

-Only 5 innings of this 13 inning game did not see runs scored

-On the other hand, 5 different innings saw both teams score runs

Game of the year?
