Haul for the day!

These are Frankincense seretta, Opoponax, Myrrh, and Roman Chamomile. I got them from Aromatics International. My favorite is the Opoponax. I have the resin I use as incense and this is a good alternative to smell the resin without all the smoke. (Not that I don’t also love the resin incense.) The Roman Chamomile I’m going to be using for headaches. The Myrrh is sweet, bitter, and dry. Beautiful scent. Frankincense seretta was a bit of a surprise. I find it spicier than the normal Boswellia Carterii.

They all have many properties for health and well-being. I will be using these to inhale for their properties. I may get a carrier oil and make hand balms, or maybe a diffuser. So happy with my purchase!

My new tea pot

I got this yesterday as an early birthday gift. I had the Chinese symbols translated as “Beautiful people are like jade.” I’ve been getting really into tea with no cream or sugar. I’ve been watching Story of a Leaf on YouTube. A great 6-part documentary about teas and where they came from.

Right now I’m drinking Queen Catherine Tea by Harney and Sons Tea. No sugar, no milk - I usually reserve that for the end of the day. The teapot came from San Antonio, Texas.

Incense altar!

Been playing around with small incense altars. I prepare it every morning and really enjoy my resins.

Making a daily altar is so calming and provides inspiration throughout the day.

Made a quick one

I’ve been building altars for inspiration, meditation, grounding, and focus for a while now. I did this one today. It’s got my incense resins, my incense burner, candles, my thurible, crystals, and my growing Chinese Forget Me Not. Hope you guys like it. And remember - a personal altar can be simple like this or immaculate and complex.

Replenished my stock

Bought more Myrrh and Opoponax (got a pound of each) from Aromatics International. Smells amazing and especially the myrrh is very beautiful in color. The myrrh over time has grown on me - especially from research into its properties and health benefits. It’s going to be burned daily like the Ancient Egyptians.

Whats’s the difference?

…between True Hojari and Royal Hojari? I’m considering a purchase from The Smokewalkers. The royal Hojari is more expensive, but that doesn’t really mean much to me for quality. Has anyone used this business before? What’s the quality like in regard to the prices? And is there really any difference between the two?
