Hi. I've been having nothing but trouble trying to get my hydraulic disc brakes to operate correctly. I finally got fed up and took them off to replace with another brand. I discovered that the shop who installed them put a small, soft, rubber o-ring where the caliper mounts against the fork and frame. It's not a flat, rubber gasket either. It's round in profile. Looks like it was partially smashed flat, and partially pushed up into the threaded hole with the bolt.
Calipers are supposed to be mounted directly, hard surface against hard surface, right?
Thanks for any help.
