Feeling anxious about flying after a car accident

I recently got into a car accident, completely my fault. I rear ended someone at a green light. It’s my first accident after a completely clean driving record and no one was hurt, and there was minimal damage done to each car. However, since the incident I’ve been feeling anxious about driving and about flying. I keep getting in my head and being insecure that I’m not a good pilot if I’m not even a good driver. I’ve been meaning to start flying family and friends to build XC time but I don’t feel comfortable doing that anymore knowing the extra risk involved. I guess I’m looking for reassurance or advice that will make me feel better after everything

Considerations for opening a brand new restaurant + promotion?

I was hired as a hostess recently at a restaurant opening in a few weeks, starting training next week. I’ve heard negative things about opening a brand new restaurant (basically just things not running smoothly or being a mess), and wanted to see if other people shared that opinion, as I’m trying to decide whether or not I’ll keep this job. I’m also wondering what the chances might look like of being promoted to a server? One comment I saw mentioned that most of the crew left by 2 months in, and I’m also wondering if this is true for most locations and if it could lead to a higher chance of being promoted.

How do I ask my dad to stop coming downstairs repeatedly late at night?

I (18f) have been sleeping in the living room for almost two years now. I don’t really mind the sleeping arrangement—the couch is comfy, I’m usually out of the house (school + work) so I don’t see a huge need for a room. My dad (59m) was unemployed for a while and when he finally got a job, it required him to work from home with specific requirements for the room. So, we made my old room the office, and he also uses it as his bedroom.

However, my biggest issue the past years has been that every night, at about 1am and 2am, my dad comes downstairs. Usually, the first time is to go outside and smoke (but he’ll be outside for like half an hour) and the second time is to cook food and make a drink. I know it’s his house as well, but it’s frustrating trying to sleep when he’s cooking something on the stove and the overhead fan is on full speed, or when I finally want some alone time or privacy but he’s constantly downstairs. I’m hardly at home anyway, and I just wish that for the short time I’m home and awake, I could have a little privacy.

I’ve brought it up multiple times, both to him and my mom (who is also frustrated). Every time, it starts a huge screaming match, and then he doesn’t change. I don’t want to argue, I just want him to stop coming down all the time. How do I ask him without starting an argument?

TLDR I live downstairs in the living room and every night my dad goes downstairs waking me up, and when I bring it up he argues. How can I ask him to stop?

What are signs an interview went well?

I just finished a Zoom interview for a restaurant set to open in about a month. It lasted about 30 minutes, with the interviewer and I having a lot of conversation including topics outside of hospitality/the role. They also asked about my availability. However, I was only asked one question about my experience, and then it opened up to questions from me for the interviewer. At the end, they let me know they have more interviews in the week and they’ll let me know by next week. I’m used to this response being a negative sign for interviews, but the rest of it went well, so I wanted to get some input from other people to know what to expect!

Zoom interview advice

I have a Zoom interview soon for a bar and bistro set to open in about a month and am looking for advice. I’m a lot more used to in-person interviews and find it easier to be personable, so I’m wondering how I can get my personality across and stand out via Zoom. Thanks in advance!

I love reading other comments on loved fics

I know most people comment with the intention of only having their comment seen by the author, but there have been a few times where I’ve loved a work so much that I read through most of the comments just because I don’t wanna feel alone in my love for the fic.

In this process, it’s been heartwarming to see how much fanfic means to other people. I’ve been on a deep dive and ended up on a French translation of a fic I’ve just read and loved, and one of the comments is about how much representation means to them, and how much it means to have that work written and then be translated by people who love fic and representation as much as them.

I know it’s a common sentiment especially with authors that people should comment more, but I find myself as a reader wanting people to comment more just so I can share that joy with more people.
