Scheduled c-section

Went for my 37 week appointment today and my baby is still breech but I’m dilated to 3CM!

We’ve scheduled the c-section for next Tuesday (August 25th) but my doctor doesn’t see me making it to 38 weeks.. I’ve been told to relax, stay seated and do minimum walking till Tuesday.

That being said, I wanna hear all the GOOD c-section stories so I can have myself prepared for this! It’s all kind of settling now. I’m a very anxious person so only good stories please!

Breech baby at 36 weeks

I’m 36+3 weeks and my baby is still breech. I had a traumatic ECV yesterday and it failed. Is there ANY recommendations to get my baby to flip? Her butt is in my pelvis and her head is usually in my left side near my belly button. I’ve tried spinning babies for the past few weeks and no change. I don’t have much time to get her to flip..

My ECV experience. (Not a good one)

Trigger warning!!

My experience was NOT a good one, so if you’re looking for a good experience to read on, please ignore this rant. Not everyone’s experience is bad, but I genuinely feel like I need to speak up to SOMEONE about this.. EVERY hospital is different..but I definitely would never recommend my doctor for such a procedure.

Two weeks ago, at my dr’s appointment I was told I will be monitored closely because my baby was breech. They mentioned an ECV and I was NOT on board at all. Come the next week, she was still breech after trying literally every single spinning babies technique in the world and more.
So I asked what all an ECV entailed….I was told it would be a gentle push on my belly from both sides to calmly turn my baby girl. Said it would hurt but not that bad. “It would be better than a c-section.” He said. He made gentle hand motions and said everything would be fine and he stops immediately when he feels the baby is resisting and doesn’t want to move. It calmed my nerves…so I waited one more week, and went in last Monday to see if she was STILL breech. And she was…after everything. Even pool therapy. So I gave into the ECV..wanting a natural birth SO badly. They scheduled my ECV for the next morning at 7:30 (yesterday.)

I got up and went to the ECV with my mother, my husband is out of town at work for the next month and won’t be home till our c-section for our daughter.

When there, they hooked me up normally as if I was going in for a c-section and gave me the shot and a iv in my hand.

When the doctor came in, my daughter was snug in my pelvis, butt down. The day before she had been slightly sideways in my right hip.
They gelled up my belly and he told me he was gonna start after finding her head. When he found her head, he dug his fingers and palm into my stomach, and started pulling. Bracing where her butt was instead of lifting her butt out my pelvis. At first, moving her did not hurt me. It was uncomfortable, yes, but it did not hurt. Then when it was to the point where her butt was not moving (she was resisting which he said he would stop the first sign of and did not) and her head was in her knees (as he described to us), I felt a very very sharp pain shoot from my pelvis all the way up to my ribs. Like something had been snatched that shouldn’t have been.

I have an EXTREMELY high pain tolerance and this made me whine. I was gripping the bed for dear life and he had the nurse put her hands on my belly and hold my daughter’s head, trying to keep her there while he tried to get her butt out my pelvis (instead of working on the butt first). He dug his fingers into my pelvis, bracing all his weight (literally bracing his entire body weight on my stomach and his elbows digging into my belly.) on me. My mother, watching, and slyly recording for my husband, was sobbing because she had to see me in pain in a way she never had before and she said the view was quite traumatizing. In the video, you can see him brace himself and squeeze my stomach in a way it literally looked like it was going to pop and his hand was dug so far it could practically touch my spine. The video is very sickening.. I didn’t know I was crying that loud until I watched it and I don’t think I’ll ever watch it again. My mother told him to stop after the second time (the nurse had let the baby’s head slip and they had to do it all over again). They told me to keep taking deep breaths but that was extremely hard when they literally felt like they were scooping out my insides or trying to take my child through my skin. My crying scared my mom and the view, she said looked like he was going to rupture my uterus, she made him stop. Thankfully. But I was so stubborn I asked to try flipping her the other way, trying to hold back my tears because I don’t like seeming weak in any situation. They gave me a break because I was shaking so badly the bed was vibrating. They tried the other way and it hurt again, nothing. She didn’t move or adjust.

When they finally left, I felt so drained and almost dead. Like I had failed at something I should’ve done better.
I sobbed, and my mom told me how scary it was to just watch and that I was strong for even going with it that long. But she would never let me do something like that again and she wished the doctor hadn’t have load about how “gentle” he was. When he was extremely aggressive.
I don’t think I’ve ever felt so defeated in my life. And violated in a way. I was so desperate to get her to move because of my fear for a c-section, I didn’t think of how that could have hurt my baby girl.

When we finally were released and I got home and laid down, I was extremely sore, my stomach has forming bruises and my uterus is in extreme pain and so is my pelvis, back, and butt bone (worse the second day, today). Every-time my daughter moves against my uterus it hurts and I wonder how badly it hurt my baby girl if I’m just in this much pain. I would never recommend this procedure to ANYONE…especially not by my doctor. I am so happy for the moms who go through with it and it’s so smooth, but they don’t offer pain medicine at my doctors office for this procedure. It was definitely..an experience. And one I wish I had missed out on. My daughter has been moving a lot and I’m sure she’s okay, just makes me wonder if she’s bruised at all… I can’t believe I let it get so far. All for nothing but hurt feelings and extreme pain..

This is my ECV experience…please find reviews before going in. What the doctor described was NOT what he did. Now I’m extremely scared to even let him do my c-section..

Recommended healing items/products.

I’m having my first planned c-section in a few weeks (my baby is breech and she refuses to turn..even with a very painful ECV) and I want to be prepared.

Do you recommend belly binders afterwards to help the scar heal? And what kind do you recommend?

What ointments do you put on your scar to help it heal?

I see some people using patches, almost like tattoo covers, going over their scar afterwards and I was just curious how that helps? I feel like the scar wouldn’t be able to dry out and heal over? Is it to prevent bacteria?

What do yall do about seatbelts going over your belly?

What helped everyone get back to their daily routine as fast as possible? My husband will only be able to be with me for two weeks after my c-section then he’ll be off at work again for a couple weeks/months depending where they send him. So I need to know how to be back in action and on my feet as soon as possible.

(I get I have to have mercy on myself and the healing process, but I can’t let everything else fall behind in the process.)

Planned c-section

I have a planned c-section for in a few weeks and I’m extremely nervous.

I’m a first time mom and pretty young.. I was wondering if anyone had any GOOD and positive experiences with their planned c-sections that they would like to share to calm my nerves?

ECV experience.

I’m currently 35 weeks and 6 days, and my baby girl hasn’t flipped (that I know of). She’s breech, and I find out Monday if she has flipped.

If she has not flipped, I am voluntarily getting a ECV.

I sort of know what to expect, but I want to hear others experiences with this procedure. But, considering I have extremely high anxiety..this post is mainly to calm my nerves. So if you have a bad experience, I’m asking please keep it to yourself. Good experiences only!! I wanna know what GOOD can come out of my worrying.

Note: I’m 20 years old and this is my first child with my husband. I have a long torso and was originally very tiny before this and was told she doesn’t have much room to turn.

First time mom

So I’m a first time mom. 6 months pregnant with my first baby girl and we just bought a house and my husband’s job is slowing down.

How do women go about getting everything their baby needs before baby gets here when financial struggles like these come up? We have family who help, but our family isn’t rich at all… I want to be able to afford to have my baby have everything she needs before she is here without my husband having to be at work while I’m in labor..

Bump on puppy’s foot.

Hey! I was on here not long ago with my 1 year old Toy poodle and the small bump on his foot that was swollen and irritated! We took him to a vet outta town and they gave us antibiotics and told us it was a interdigital cyst! But, it still looks like this and he’s almost done with his antibiotics..
I was just wondering if anyone else’s dogs have had this and how long it took for them to completely go away?
