Context: The company I left has a start up branch in my state, and they don’t have a physical shop location where I can drop off the work van so it’s stuck parked on the street.

Not sure who or when the van will be picked up by. I live in a pretty safe neighborhood, but I don’t like the idea of being liable if anything happens to the van while it sits out there. How can I avoid liability in this situation?

To preface I have told my manager from the beginning, and several times after, that I will not run non-emergency calls on Sundays because it violates the practice of my faith. I am good to run true emergency calls on Sunday’s, just not anything that isn’t essential and can be done on any other day. We have a client that has had a salad prep table down for months now, and they are having a new one delivered Sunday and they want me to start it up that day. I told him that I won’t do it, but he wasn’t taking no for an answer so I will have to reiterate it again tomorrow.

I don’t feel like it’s a big ask, because I basically bend over backwards for the company and do everything else they ask of me. I will work all day and night during the rest of the week, I will drive 3-5 hours for service calls at anytime, I cover for people when ever I am needed to (taking on the work loads of others or call backs), I will say out of town in hotels for several days at a time. I say no to absolutely nothing else except for this, I don’t see why they can’t wait one more day. How would you guys deal with a situation like this?

There are a couple cites I that service, mainly the hvac, where I notice the compressors for the walk-ins keep short cycling for a bit while the system already is pumped down, and then it stops. Next month we will be doing our refrigeration pms so I’ll have more time to dive into these systems. I initially thought it could potentially be the dual pressure switch going out of calibration, but after looking online it could potentially be an issue with the solenoid valve bypassing or the compressor.

Those are just my assumptions as someone with limited walk-in experience. What I’m wondering is what should I actually look for? Would it be a good idea to wire a compressor delay in series to the contactor to prevent short cycling while the system is pumped down?
