Built a cute retro game: what next?

Hi I am an ex programmer and I just designed and built a cute retro game intended for the iPhone/ipad. My friends are addicted to it. Can this community point me at resources to find out what to do next? How much it will cost… Currently in html. Opening screen attached! I would love to break even; any money on top is a dream!

Any advice on how I work out what to do next very welcome!

Maintenance is more stressful than weight loss

So I lost 1/3 of my body weight and have a healthy BMI now. I am so happy to be here but the constant stress of worrying about putting on weight is something I didn’t expect… I think I am on this medication for life. I just am struggling with overthinking every ounce.

I went down to 2.5mg for a couple of months but I think 5mg might be my maintenance dose. I went back up to 5mg today. Perhaps I should have tried 3.75mg? Who knows! Does anyone know? Has anyone else had a similar quandary? (Blue = 2.5, purple 5, green 7.25, pink 10mg and orange 12.5….)

Arrrrgh. It’s wonderful to be at goal but I WANT TO STAY HERE SO MUCH.

Any advice or thoughts welcome!

Thames Water sending my disabled dad and I round in circles

My Dad lives in England, and Thames Water does his water and sewage. He’s lived in his current (modest) house for 6 years. He’s disabled and registered with them as a vulnerable person. He is 85. He’s quite deaf and cannot walk unaided.

In October of last year they did a manual meter reading (not unusual; because there is no mobile signal in his village; all his reading have been manual) and decided he needed to pay a massive multiple of his current water rate. About £350 a month. To be clear, at that reading they are suggesting he is filling a swimming pool or two times each week.

He protested and they sent someone round very promptly; this person said to my Dad that the meter was clearly faulty as, if this was due to a leak, the house would be in the middle of a lake by now. He said someone would come around and install a new meter.

Well, that hasn’t happened and nothing else has happened to address the problem either; they keep trying to put his direct debit up to cope with this insanely high usage and the back billing. I’ve spent literally hours on the phone with them (the last call was over 70 minutes) and they always agree in person that this is crazy and that a new meter needs to go in. This never happens.

I’m not the account holder, and don’t live that close to him, but they insist he is present for any conversations even though I am registered as being allowed to speak in his behalf. So I have called when I am there; the people I speak are is always helpful and promise it’s sorted; assure me we will get z, y, z documents confirming this and then… crickets. We get nothing. Then another request to put up his direct debit to insane levels…

I would welcome any advice.

Air con broke down on the train - but I had remembered my fan!

Yesterday was the dumbest day of the year for me to go into the office. But stupidly that’s what I did. It turned out to be a waste of time because my colleagues decided they were going to go to a conference - but I was dressed for the weather (sarong and beach shoes) so really unsuitable for a smart investment conference. So I spent the day on my own in the office. Felt extra stupid when on the way home the air con broke down on the train. In the hottest day of the year. It was about a million degrees and people were taking off their ties and (in my case) their shoes. The guard was handing out free water…gah! I could have been at home working at the cool shady in the garden with a lemonade and my cat Gordon begging for treats.

But then I remembered the all-in-one-£5-power-bank-with electric-fan that I bought from TikTok - it was in my bag AND IT WAS CHARGED.

So I sat there for an hour praising the gods of small electronics while blasting the cool breeze directly into my face.

A genuinely lovely modern property in a beautiful setting…but of course four times my price range!

All the greige monstrosities and footballers’ pads make me despair sometimes, but this is actually lovely.
And the location is great (my Dad’s house is in the same village but nearer the main road) … it’s also got a freshwater pool, which I like the sound of - though perhaps they are a green slimy nightmare if you make a simple mistake?
