Hello seniors, I have a doubt regarding Engineering Mathematics-I. I am a 1st year CSE (IoT) student at TMSL. I have the B.K. Pal Engineering Mathematics Volume 1 book, but it contains many chapters. Could anyone please tell me which chapters are actually included in the MAKAUT 1st semester syllabus

Anyone here from TMSL? Can someone recommend a good PG near Techno Main Salt Lake? Looking for a single room with food included. My total budget is around ₹10k/month (rent + food). If you're staying in one or know someone who is, please drop the PG name, approximate rent, food quality, and contact

Joining CSE (IoT) this year and I'm genuinely confused about its scope

Hi everyone,

I'm about to start college this year and I've been allotted CSE (IoT) at Techno Main Salt Lake.

Honestly, I'm really confused. I've been asking a lot of people about this branch, but everyone says something different. Some people tell me it's a good branch because it's still CSE, while others say placements are poor or that many companies don't even allow CSE (IoT) students to sit for campus placements.

At this point, I don't know what to believe.

I thought it would be better to ask people who are actually seniors or working in the industry.

Can someone please tell me what the reality is?

- Does CSE (IoT) have good scope?

- Do companies really restrict CSE (IoT) students during placements?

- If someone has good DSA, projects, and internships, can they still aim for companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, etc.?

- If you were in my position, would you choose ?

I just want to know the reality so I can stop overthinking and focus on the next four years.

I'd really appreciate any advice. Thanks! 🙏

Doubt regarding admission documents

Hi, I have a small doubt. Where do we get the Provisional Admission Letter and Self Declaration Form for TMSL admission? Are we supposed to download them from somewhere or does the college provide them during reporting?

If anyone has already completed the admission process, please let me know. Thanks

Doubt regarding tmsl IT

Hey everyone, I’m thinking about taking IT at TMSL, but after hearing a bunch of stuff, I’m kinda confused and a bit nervous. Is the college really that strict? What’s the daily routine like, and how are things like attendance, assignments, and academics? Also, I don’t know Bengali will that be an issue? Do teachers or students treat non-Bengali students differently, or is it all chill? Is going for IT at TMSL a good choice? Would really appreciate some honest opinions. Thanks

Is CSE (IoT) worth taking? Need honest opinions.

Hello everyone,

I'm getting CSE (IoT) and I'm confused whether I should take it.

I have a few questions:

Do CSE (IoT) students get the same placement opportunities as CSE Core and IT?

Are IoT students eligible for almost all software companies, or do some companies restrict them?

How do the placements compare with CSE Core, IT, Data Science, and Cyber Security?

If I work hard on DSA, development, and internships, can I expect opportunities similar to CSE Core/IT?

Would you personally recommend taking CSE (IoT), or should I wait for an upgrade?

Please be brutally honest. I don't want sugar-coated answers because this decision will affect my career.

TMSL AIML at 14k Rank – Realistic or Not?

Hi everyone,

I got around 14k GMR in WBJEE this year (General category) and my first preference is Techno Main Salt Lake. I'm mainly targeting CSE (AI & ML).

Last year's closing rank for AIML was around 14.9k in the later rounds, so looking at the cutoff I should be somewhere near the boundary. But one thing is making me nervous.

Last year WBJEE counselling started quite late, and by then many students with better ranks had already taken admission through JEE Main, JoSAA, or other counselling processes. Because of that, cutoffs seemed to go lower.

This year counselling is starting much earlier, so I'm worried whether that could make the cutoffs tougher compared to last year.

I wanted to ask seniors and people who have followed WBJEE counselling closely:

- With a 14k rank, do I still have a decent chance of getting TMSL CSE (AI & ML), especially in the later rounds or mop-up?

- If AIML becomes difficult, how safe are branches like IT or CSE (Data Science)?

- Any advice regarding choice filling so that I don't miss out on a good option?

I know nobody can predict cutoffs exactly, but I'd really appreciate some realistic opinions based on previous years' trends.

Thanks in advance!

I am cooked 😭 feeling lost

Honestly, I’m at a breaking point. I’m feeling completely lost, like everything is just over.

I gave JEE Mains—didn't go well. Gave VIT—didn't go well either. Then I put my heart and soul into WBJEE, worked day and night, but I messed up so many questions due to silly negative marking. Ended up with a 14k rank. If I had just 10-15 more marks and those silly negatives hadn't happened, I would have secured a seat at Heritage. I didn't have crazy expectations, but seeing where I’ve ended up feels like a disaster.

I can't take a drop; I’m genuinely exhausted from this entire cycle. I’m burnt out. The worst part? Looking at my friends. They’ve scored 94-95 percentile in JEE and are taking a drop to secure an NIT or IIT next year. I know comparing myself to them is toxic, but I can't help it. It feels like they have a clear path ahead, and I’m stuck.

Pta nhi mai ye yaha kyu post kar raha hu, shayad bas apna dard nikalne ke liye.

I don’t know what to do next. I feel like I’ve failed at everything. To anyone who’s been here, how do you even deal with this feeling of "everything is finished"? Does it actually get better, or am I just doomed to regret this?

Can anyone tell me what rank I can expect in WBJEE with around 40 marks? If anyone has knowledge of previous years' trends or has seen similar scores before, please share the approximate rank range.
