Help this young dad choose a ride

I’ve always casually ridden bikes but don’t know much beyond mountain bikes. My daughter loves riding in the back trailer so I’m looking to upgrade to a road oriented bike. I’m looking at used model to save money and narrowed it down to a few models:

-trek verve 1

-trek fx 7.1

-trek fx3 lightweight

-giant cypress

-specialized Sirrus

Which one is ideal for towing a trailer for 80% of the time, paved roads, and occasional longer solo rides if I meet up with friends who are more serious riders?

If they are all decent options then I will probably go with the cheapest bike that still looks good conditions. TIA!

Allow the charge off?

For context, my partner and I have excellent credit with no history of charge offs or past due bills.

We recently made a purchase for several hundred dollars on our CC. The merchant added additional optional coverage to the purchase that we tried to dispute with them, but they ultimately ended up charging us due to misleading information. We asked them to remove the optional fee both before completing the sale and after the transaction went through. They declined.

We disputed this with the CC company and ultimately they left it as a he said she said situation and are finding us responsible for the secondary added fees.

Out of principal, I don’t want to pay the additional added fees but plan to pay for the first portion of the bill. It’s about $400 in original charges and another $400 in added on charges.

I plan to leave a balance of $400 on my CC and will allow them to charge this off and send to collections. My logic is that we were mislead into being charged the extra $400 so I am not really responsible for it. This is a merchant with a known history of misleading customers.

I already have a house with a low rate, two paid off cars, and no plans for a loan anytime soon. Would it be really dumb to just allow this account to be charged off and/or go to collections? I am fine with a short term hit to my credit because it’s always very high and I don’t plan to need it soon. The whole point of using a CC is protection for situations like this and the fact that it’s the banks funds to dispute over. I am disappointed in both the bank and merchant for how this has been handled. Never had an issue like this in the last. TIA!

Hood swap question

Can you swap hoods on the fourth gen between a trd sport and trd off road relatively easily? I want the trd sport and don’t need the OR features but don’t love the hood scoop. Any info on how difficult or easy this might be is appreciated

Can we talk headlights? (Not brightness)

Correct me if I’m wrong, but it seems like most cars made in the last few years don’t allow for replacement bulbs to be swapped in. If your headlight goes out, you now have to spend thousands ($1,000’s)!!! Just to get headlights back in your car. I know of several cars that don’t allow bulb replacements.

When did this become acceptable?? Didn’t we used to have HID and LED projectors housings that would still allow you to swap in replacement bulbs? How is this the new norm? We are going backwards in the car industry and I feel like the general public is blissfully unaware. As more people get newer cars they are going to be furious when they get these repair bills.
