11lb fruit bowl

Threw this bowl this past weekend, pretty happy with how it came out. Intentionally left it a bit thicker after complaints about tipping on one of my previous fruit bowls. As I always say the hardest thing in pottery is knowing when to stop. Had to fight the urges to get another pull out of this guy with how thick it was. Hope you all like it! Will post follow up when it’s glazed.

Rhode Island PawPaws

I was recently given 6 young PawPaws, I was told they’re a cold hardy variety. I have never grown them or known anyone who grows them so I am looking for advice.

I’ve read that this is around the upper northern boundary of where these survive well. On most of the more detailed maps I’ve found my Climate zone is sort of on the edge of 6b/7a and I would say that is more or less accurate.

I’ve also read that these need about 50-70% shade, is this correct?

I figure I can put fresh compost around the base before winter as a buffer from the cold. Is this recommended?

Any recommendations help, thank you!

Dry ribs with potatoes salad and collard greens

I (29m) am putting myself back out there after focusing on my career for the past few years. My last serious relationship (3years) ended when I found out she was cheating on me with someone I thought was my friend.

I’m doing well on my own, I make good money at the job I always wanted, I bought a house, have all my interests and hobbies available to me. I quit drinking to focus on my health, I have good friends who have my back but they’re all getting married now and I feel lonely.

Dating apps suck and never lead anywhere for me. I’ve met a few women IRL.

First I met this stunning amazing woman, she is a talented artists with a successful business and we hit it off but she told me she is BI, hasn’t been with a man in years and would need to have a boyfriend and a girlfriend. I’m looking to get married and start a family and I didn’t feel like this was right for me, we are still friends and she’s dating a woman.

I reconnected with this woman from college, she is amazingly smart(PHD smart) and is super interesting but she never has any free time, things are always really good when we’re together but when we’re not I feel like I’m the one doing all of the communication.

Just recently met another woman through my friend and she is sweet and cute but she seemed kinda boring on our recent date. No hobbies, 3 cats I’m allergic to, picky eater. She also seems very eager to get shipped up after 1 date and I want to get to know the woman I’m dating before I commit.

I know I’m blessed to have all the things I do have and I’ve worked really hard to get here. I’m just starting to feel like there is no point if I don’t have someone to share it with. I just want to meet someone who seems right for me, and is aligned on what they want for a life together.
