I recently ingested a good amount of Baba film, and to be honest, I left a bit disappointed. Now don’t get me wrong, the potential is absolutely there. A legit 6’9 forward with long arms and fluid athletic abilities is always enticing. However, his profile as a prospect is extremely murky.

He operates in this strange limbo offensively. He is not an on ball creator. He doesn’t really initiate on the perimeter much at all, and he’s not a guy that really has a post scoring bag either. He doesn’t have the strength or skills necessary to influence the game in those ways. So you would think offensively he would be more of an off the ball prospect. Yet, he is not very impactful in that role either. He isn’t really a floor spacer at this current moment. And though he is advertised as one, his shot looks off to me. He tends to fade away from the basket even while not being contested. And overall, I am not much of a buyer in the 3 point shot at the moment. He is also a guy that tends to just stand around when off the ball. He doesn’t cut, move, or try to set screens much at all. And I won’t blame this all on him, because his teams were really awful at getting him the ball, or putting him in positions to be successful. But he didn’t really help much with the way he plays. All this being said, he did show some intriguing close out attacking abilities. He has great acceleration for someone of his stature, and his touch around the rim and on the move passing, are interesting skills he provides. However, he is not able to leverage them very often, and he tends to disappear on offense at times.

His slightness and complete lack of defensive rebounding are other worries I have. And I would say overall, he is a capable defender with high potential on that end. But as of now he isn’t as impactful as you would want him to be.

There just really isn’t any skill or tool that jumps out about his game in my opinion. I see the upside absolutely, but I don’t see a lot of substance to that projection.

At the current moment, I see him as a guy to watch when it comes to future drafts. I think he needs a lot of development which makes sense as he is very young. And I hope he proves me wrong, but as of now I’m gonna need to see more from him before I put him on my big board.

Richie Saunders is the perfect role player. He can shoot the ball at speeds that few can replicate while being ridiculously efficient and impacting the game in a multitude of other ways. He's a great screener, rebounder, defender, passer, and he just makes winning plays. I think the Grizzlies got another second-round gem in Richie Saunders. And he fits their vision for the future perfectly.

Jordan Smith Jr. is one of the most talented two-way forces at the guard position that I have seen in a while. His explosiveness, freakish wingspan, tenacity, and solid frame make him a nightmare for anyone trying to get a bucket. On the offensive end, he is also very impressive. His quick-twitch speed and battering ram mentality make him a tough cover. He also provides intriguing ball-handling, shooting, and shot-creation upside. Beckham Black is one of the most complete high school prospects out there right now. His intuitive impact and high IQ game make me believe that the NBA is in his near future. He is an absolute sniper from outside, and he is a guy that can initiate and set the table for the offense while shredding the defense if they make the smallest mistake. His game isn't perfect, and he isn't a dominant athletic force. But his skill and veteran playstyle make me believe that Beckham Black has a very high floor as a point guard prospect. Baba Miller is an older rookie that is still packed with potential. His freakish size, length, bounce, and speed are tools that allow him to dominate the glass and wreck games defensively. Offense is still a question for Baba, but he has taken strides in recent years. His shooting and ball handling are continuing to progress, and his impact is slowly morphing away from just being an around-the-rim play finisher. Caleb Wilson is a player that has always been super intriguing to me as a prospect. I didn't think of him as a top 5 player in this draft class when he was in high school. And the reason for that was that his handle, touch around the rim, shooting, and overall self-creation skills were very limited. That being said, he has addressed every one of those issues and completely revolutionized his game. In his recent Summer League debut and the latter half of his freshman year at UNC, he has looked like a completely different player. And with the elite play finishing and dominant defensive profile he already showcases, this leap in face-up offensive skill makes Caleb Wilson's possible trajectory one that is off the charts. When the 2nd round of the 2026 NBA Draft kicked off, Ryan Conwell was one of my favorite prospects still on the board. And when the Heat picked him up, I couldn't really think of a better fit. His instinctual off-the-ball defensive playmaking and buttery smooth and brief release fill so many holes on the Heat's current roster in the Giannis era. Ebuka Okorie is one of the most electric guard prospects in this year's draft. Since I saw him play at Brewster Academy, I knew he had high potential. But throughout his freshman year, he impressed me more and more to the point that I think he has star upside. His insane speed, shot-making, acrobatic finishing, crisp ball handling, and relentlessness make me think that the Pistons just drafted the perfect guard for their future. He addresses many of the issues the Pistons dealt with last season. And his fit on the Pistons is the definition of seamless.

Christian Anderson is a player I have seen grow in many ways over the past couple of years. He is the definition of a pure point guard. His insane floor general skills, deceleration, ball handling, passing accuracy, and deep three-point shot-making make me feel like he is a great bet to be an elite offensive operator at the next level. Joshua Jefferson is a player that I have seen blossom into an absolutely elite prospect. When he first got to Iowa State, I saw his next-level upside but didn't know if he would achieve it. His instinctual feel and game-wrecking defense were always a part of his impact on the game. However, his shooting and self-creation were not all the way there yet. But he has improved immensely in the past year, to the point that I think he could be an extremely impactful P&D (passing and defense) player in the NBA right now. Tyran Stokes has all the tools and skills you want in a star. Elite handle, footwork, burst, shot-making, athleticism, and two-way impact. However, character and effort concerns have followed him throughout his career. And even with all that he offers, he doesn't have one skill that exceeds the others.
