Considering NP school, don’t know what to specialize in

Hi hi! Sorry for the long post. Title kinda says it all, but I’ll break it down a bit.

I’m considering NP school in the not so distant future, and would love to hear from other NPs about what they love (or don’t) about their fields, or just give general input.

Current experience:
10+ years bedside total, mix of med surg, cardiac stepdown and ICU (kidney/liver/pancreas transplants, neuro, mix of a lot of things).

Ideal shifts:
3 12hr shifts strongly preferred, no weekends or holidays preferred but that’s flexible
Do *not* want 5 days a week
On-call not ideal but doable for the right job

Pace of the work:
Flexible on this, but wouldn’t want either extreme (SUPER fast paced or SUPER slow).

Population:
I’d consider *almost* anything with adults. In-patient or out-patient or a mix. Would consider telehealth aspect to the job but like hands-on work.

Do not want:
ICU NP/hospitalist NP or L&D

Procedures would be cool, but not at all a requirement. Good pay is a big consideration if I’m being frank, but I have to enjoy the work.

Considering:
Derm (willing to cross train aesthetics for variety wouldn’t want to ONLY do that)
Urology
GI
Women’s health (not midwife)
Psych (likely not first choice but not off the table)

I would love to hear from other NPs about their thoughts!

Thanks so much!

What type of pencil grasp is this?

Hopefully this is ok to post here as I’m not familiar with this subreddit. My daughter is 20 months but has held her pencils/crayons like this since probably 16 months. Thought it was unusual but wanted to know what an OT thought. (Not asking for advice just curious). Thanks!

Age for oral food challenge for infant-onset shellfish/shrimp FPIES?

Hi! Title basically says it all, but here’s my situation.

My toddler had projectile vomiting 4hrs after eating shrimp on 3 separate occasions, so her pediatrician and I both agreed it’s the likely FPIES. That was around 15 months. She’s 20 months old now.

I’m not ready to do an oral food challenge yet, obviously, but I know shellfish FPIES is more stubborn. What age did you, or were you told to, schedule a food challenge?

Hi! I’m new here so sorry if I don’t post something correctly.

I usually wear a 36B (US sizing) or “large” in bras that are S/M/L/XL) but I know that’s not right. The bras are mostly supported by the straps and the band is too loose. It doesn’t look bad with a shirt on, but I’m trying to find the right size. I’m afraid to get too big of a cup and have a weird gap at the top.

Here are my measurements:

Loose Underbust: 30in

Snug Underbust: 29.5in

Tight Underbust: 29in

Standing Bust: 35.5in

Leaning Bust: 39in

Lying Bust: 37in

Calculator says “Suggested Starting Size: 30G US

The sister size of 32DDD may be more comfortable.”

Other calculators say I’m around a 30DD or 30DDD. I’m confused where to start since I can’t really find my band size in stores and buying online without actually knowing my size is intimidating.

Here’s what I’m looking for in a bra:

Comfortable. No underwire. Decent/flattering lift but not crazy push up (AKA more of a t shirt, daily wear bra. I have volume on top but not super droopy breasts). Light padding. Not crazy expensive (prefer under $50 but can go higher for something amazing).

I feel like in looking for a unicorn, but thought it was worth a shot! :)
