[LFH][PC/PS5][~2000 DKK][Denmark] Closed-back for immersive cinematic games & competitive FPS

  • Budget: 1800–2000 DKK (~$280 - $312 USD)
  • Country: Denmark
  • Platform: PC & PS5 Pro Controller
  • Motherboard if on PC: ASUS TUF X870
  • Requested Guide: Fun Gaming (Note: Choose strictly "Fun Gaming" since "Comp FPS" is open-back only on their sub rules)
  • Open back or closed back?: Closed Back
  • Any other gear you own?: Returning MMX 300 Pro (hate the attached boom mic sitting in my peripheral vision). Running Dolby Atmos for spatial audio.

Additional Details:

Looking for a closed-back headphone replacement. Primary focus is deep immersion, punchy bass, and wide soundstage for cinematic RPGs (Cyberpunk 2077, RDR2, The Witcher 3, Resident Evil, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II).

Secondary use is competitive shooters (Fortnite, Battlefield, Marvel Rivals) where I still need decent directional imaging.

Preferences:

  • Must be Closed-Back.
  • Good out-of-the-box cable ergonomics (no stiff connectors poking my neck/collarbone, and low cable noise/microphonics), or atleast i need it to be somewhat easy to find a replacement if the cable is too stiff. (the main reason ive been holding off on the dt 770 pro x is because ive heard the cable is quite stiff and makes noise? and i could foresee that getting annoying but if any of u know of a good replacement for the standard cable that fixes this id gladly accept!)
  • Not looking for flat, clinical music-mixing headphones—prioritizing fun gaming immersion.

[PA] Returning my MMX 300 Pro (Hate the attached mic). Need closed-back recommendations for Cinematic & FPS games! (Budget: ~2000 DKK / $300)

Hey everyone, looking for some purchase advice to replace a headset that isn't working out for me.

I recently picked up the Beyerdynamic MMX 300 Pro, but I've realized I absolutely hate having a built-in boom microphone sitting in my peripheral vision all the time. I want to swap to a dedicated pair of closed-back headphones instead (I’ll figure out a standalone mic later).

(and yes i know i could rotate the microphone upward, but overall i just dont really wanna deal with having it and id rather get a standalone mic)

Budget & Location: I'm in Denmark. My budget is around 1800 DKK, but I'm willing to stretch it to 2000 DKK (roughly $280 - $312 USD / €240 - €270).

Source/Gear: They will be plugged directly into my PC (ASUS TUF X870 motherboard) and occasionally a PS5 Pro controller. I also run Dolby Atmos for virtual surround, so they need to take well to spatial audio processing.

What I use them for:

  • Cinematic / Story Games (Main Focus): Cyberpunk 2077, Red Dead Redemption 2, The Witcher, Resident Evil, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. I really want great immersion, punchy bass, and a wide soundstage for that "surround sound" theater feel.
  • Competitive FPS (Secondary): Fortnite, Battlefield, Marvel Rivals. I still need decent directional imaging to track footsteps when I play multiplayer.
  • Media: Lots of YouTube and movies. I listen to music occasionally, but it's not my primary focus at all.

Preferences:

  • Needs to be Closed-Back.
  • Needs to have a decent cable situation out of the box. I don't want to deal with extremely stiff connectors poking my collarbone or massive microphonics rubbing against my shirt (which is why I'm hesitant to just buy the DT 770 PRO X).

What's the best option in this price range for someone who prioritizes deep gaming immersion (and pretty decent diractional imaging for competitive games) over pure, clinical music mixing? Thanks!

MMX 300 PRO ordered — If the fixed mic gets annoying, is the DT 770 PRO X a good Plan B/Backup?

MMX 300 PRO incoming, but planning my exit strategy if the mic arm annoys me. Is the DT 770 PRO X the move?

Hey everyone,

I just pulled the trigger on a pair of Beyerdynamic MMX 300 PROs. I love the idea of having the STELLAR.45 drivers for a mix of immersive single-player games, competitive shooters, music, movies and youtube on PC/PS5.

However, my main concern is the fixed microphone boom. If having a permanent mic in my face when I'm just relaxing or listening to music gets annoying, I'm considering returning them for the DT 770 PRO X Limited Edition as my Plan B.

Before they arrive, I'm trying to double-check a few things from anyone who has tried both:

  • Sound & Drivers: Since both use the 48-ohm STELLAR.45 driver, is the soundstage, clarity, and overall acoustic tuning practically identical?
  • Daily Usability: For those using the MMX 300 PRO for casual music or non-gaming stuff, does the mic arm actually get in the way, or does it swing out of sight easily enough?
  • Plan B Alternative: If I return the MMX 300 PRO and swap to the DT 770 PRO X with a separate mic setup instead, am I losing anything in terms of sound quality or comfort?

Would love to hear from anyone who has hands-on experience with either! (would also like to hear if theres anything that would work better as a backup)

[$150 / 1000 DKK] Upgrading from HyperX Cloud Alpha — Need PC & PS5 headphone recommendations

(the flair is just a placeholder, any recommendations are good).

Budget & Location: ~1000 DKK / $150 USD (Denmark / EU). Can stretch slightly, but under $180.

Setup: PC & PS5 (3.5mm plugged directly into motherboard or DualSense controller). Plug-and-play only—no external amp, DAC, or software tuning.

Previous Headset: HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless. Loved the audio, immersion, and comfort for 4–5 years until the left side broke. Wanting to move to a non-gaming brand this time.

Games Played:

Cinematic / RPGs: Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher, Resident Evil, Elden Ring, Sekiro

Competitive / Shooters: Battlefield, Fortnite, Marvel Rivals

Other Uses: Movies, YouTube, and music.

Exact Needs:

Deep Immersion for RPGs: Must deliver rich, full, atmospheric sound and punch for cinematic single-player story games.

Clear Footsteps/Sound for Shooters (or competitive games in general): Must have strong directional detail and spatial clarity so I can pinpoint enemy footsteps and audio cues in Fortnite and Battlefield.

Comfort & Build Quality: Durable build for long sessions.

Decent EU Return Policy: Easy to return if the fit isn't right.

Looking for a new pair because my old headset is broken, need help finding options!

(First off, the flair, is just there as a placeholder idk if I'm looking for closed back), alright so first off my budget for the new pair of headphones is around 154 dollars (or in my currency 1000 DKK), I can definitely stretch this and go a bit above just can't go up to 180-200 dollars.

I previously had the HyperX cloud alpha headphones (wireless) these lasted for about 5-4 years and I liked the audio, immersion in games and just overall the feel of them, but they recently broke (there's only sound in the right side. So the left side is broken) and I need a new pair of headphones, but didn't wanna go with a generic gaming one. So here i am

The things I'll likely be using it for is playing games, quite a wide variety of games so I'll just list the type of games

Cinematic Games: so cyberpunk, the Witcher, resident evil, elden ring even, sekiro etc. Stuff like that.

Competitive games: battlefield, a bit of Fortnite here and there, and marvel rivals.

I'll also be using them for watching movies, listen to music, watch YouTube (I mean yeah).

I'm MOSTLY on PC, but I do also have a playstation 5 and don't know if I should focus on getting one primarily for pc and get another one for PS5 later on.

Just need help finding a great pair which would possibly work for me, with a decent return policy.

Finally pulled the trigger on a PS5 Pro! (Impressions + planning a Black Friday TV upgrade)

I finally picked up a PS5 Pro after finding a really good deal on it, and I can confidently say I’m very happy with my upgrade so far. Games look incredible on it

Right now, I'm putting it through its paces with a solid lineup:

  • Cyberpunk 2077
  • Pragmata
  • Resident Evil 9
  • Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Remake
  • And in the future GTA 6, Phantom Blade Zero, Wolverine, God of War Laufey, ILL, Onimusha Etc.

Since I saved a bit on the console, I’m holding off on a new display until Black Friday. For reference, my current setup is split between a 43" Samsung Q60D and a 27" Odyssey G5 OLED monitor. (im currently happy with the TV but its definitely not high end or an oled, but it has done me well so far, but will sell it to make room for a upgrade in november)

For those who have paired their Pro with a high-end TV, what should I be keeping an eye on for Black Friday deals? Looking for something that really lets the Pro shine!

Complete Gacha Noob, Trying out WuWa because of the recent cyberpunk collab trailer

Hey everyone! I’m still very VERY new to gacha games. I played a little bit of HSR, ZZZ, and Genshin last year, but I ended up dropping them.

Recently, the Cyberpunk x WuWa trailer popped up on my YouTube recommended and it looked absolutely awesome. like im genuinely surprised they even brought back the narrator from the game for it but i am so happy they did, and it really felt like they would do the collab justice. i have clocked in 1000 hours on cyberpunk (and watched every lore video lol) so to say im only excited for this collab would be an extreme understatement, just have a few questions about WuWa

I'm loving it so far, but since I don't really know how these games work long-term, I just have a few questions:

  • How bad is the power creep? Comparing it to games like HSR or ZZZ, am I going to feel forced to pull the newest characters just to clear endgame stuff?
  • Story vs. Exploration? The movement and exploration in this game feel incredible, but the story is cool too. Should I be rushing the main story to unlock stuff, or is it better to just wander around and explore first?
  • How is the pull economy? Are the devs generous with currency, or am I going to have to hoard my pulls for months like you have to do in Genshin?
  • Is the MC actually viable? In a lot of other games the main character falls off super hard (or is just terribly written), but really like rover and the gameplay of rover and was wondering how viable she is for clearing endgame content and team building, and if its worth investing into her?

Any other beginner tips would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance!
