help on itinerary

edit: okay i’m hearing yall and you despise my idea of a day trip to denali 😭 also heard we need to get out of anchorage. doing two smaller/closer day trips instead to girdwood and eklutna

Hi! I’m heading to anchorage with 6 of my girl friends this month (6 days - 4 full and 2 travel) for my birthday. I would love to pack our itinerary with the best “don’t miss” things and need some help filling in the gaps or reviewing what we’re doing. restaurant recommendations are VERY welcome. what to bring recommendations are also welcome. context on what to expect is super welcome.

here’s what we currently have:

thursday: travel day

friday: anchorage hiking and exploring
\- hike flattop
\- explore anchorage

saturday: day trip to seward
\- rented car to seward
\- cruise tour 12:30-6:30ish
\- explore / eat + go home
\- maybe silly’s summer fair in anchorage OR find a fishing spot for salmon (all recommendations on spots are very welcome!)

sunday: day trip to girdwood
- hike winner creek trail (3 mi each way - 6 mi tot) or crow pass (3.5 miles into the trail and turn back, 7mi total)
- 10 min walk to virgin creek falls
- alyeska tram to mountain top
-cafe snack with view
- fishing, home, etc

monday: half day or full day to eklutna
- thunderbird falls (quick 1.8 mi)
- visit historic park and cemetery situation
- lifetime adventures either kayak on river or bike on the trail

tuesday: travel day

i’m from texas so VERY excited to see some mountains, water, maybe a tree or two (!) and some wildlife. hoping for a relaxing and scenic trip and want to make sure i have a real idea on how to use our time. thanks !!!
