10 day's in Dallas

I'm M/64 I'm in Dallas short time currently staying in the Lewiston , Corralton area N/W Dallas for 10days and I absolutely love to go to see and listen to Free or small donation music venue's. I'm here for a family members surgery so some time will be taken up during day with that but my evening's will be for the most part free. So I came from the Houston area and have just completed the Rock the Dock summer series there. I understand that it's supposed to be over the 100's temperature wise but would love to be able to go into some air conditioned venues to enjoy some good vibes. Music likes are foremost blues oriented. Most good Rock and Roll originated from the blues so yeah! Though lately there have been many new Tribute bands that are just Awesome 😎. If you've read this far I am all ears for suggestions.

first time visitor

hey everyone! it would be my family’s first time visiting the US, and Dallas is one of the cities we’re planning to visit. we tried to search for different tourist attractions and this is what we’ve come up with so far.

no strict itinerary, we just listed down the places we’d like to visit. any thoughts? are we missing out on anything else? i’d highly appreciate any recommendations! thanks!

Travelling to Dallas

We will be traveling to the USA from Ireland next June, and our first stop is Dallas for 7 days.

Any tips about tipping? I hear a lot that it is very different from Europe.

What amount is appropriate, and to whom do you leave tips, aside from waiters, etc.?

Please help, I do not want to be one of "those people," but I genuinely have no clue.

Also, is it the same across the states? Flying to Florida after.

Thank you.

any good hobby/craft places around dallas that aren’t really aimed at kids?

i need a hobby that doesn’t involve staring at another screen after work

my sister got me into one of those diamond painting kits when i visited her and i made fun of it for about 10 minutes before somehow sitting there for like 3 hours doing it. so yeah. jokes on me.
i’ve been looking at more of them online now, but figured there might be somewhere around dallas where you can actually go in and look at craft stuff in person instead of gambling on what shows up in the mail. doesn’t specifically have to be diamond painting either. model kits, painting, woodworking, whatever. mostly looking for something you can get really absorbed in for a couple hours. any local shops/classes you guys like? preferably somewhere north/central dallas but i’ll drive if it’s actually worth it.

Moved

I moved to Rockwall back in July. Im looking for good places to go in Dallas or Dallas proper. For references: I like nature, music, sports, I want to meet people and friends, and enjoy city life after growing up in rural america.

Anyone needing a mobile mechanic around dfw?

If anyone is needing anything done on their vehicle give me a call! I used to be a shop manager and technician couldn’t deal with shop scheduling so I do everything mobile now. Basic maintenance, engine problems, starting issues, brakes, suspension ready for it all

Moving to dallas

I’m a 29-year-old asian female moving to DFW with my kitten for work, an I’m trying to be thoughtful about where I live. Moving from socal.

My job will be in Fort Worth, and I’m hoping to stay within about a 15–25 minute commute if possible. My budget is ideally under $1,400, but I have some flexibility for the right place.

I’m looking for neighborhood or apartment recommendations for a young woman living alone. Safety is important to me, but I’d also love somewhere that feels walkable, diverse, and not too isolating. I’m not really into bars/clubs, but I do enjoy coffee shops, restaurants, parks, walking around, and trying new things on weekends.

One apartment I’ve heard about is Franklin at Samuels Avenue. I’ve also considered Arlington or Irving, but those would be around 30-minute drives, so I’m not sure if the commute/lifestyle would be worth it (heard Texas traffic is horrendous)

I’d love advice on:

What neighborhoods or apartment complexes would you recommend?

Are there any areas I should avoid?

Is downtown Fort Worth a good place to live?

Are Arlington or Irving worth considering?

Any advice for adjusting to Texas, apartment hunting, making friends, or surviving the heat?

I’m starting work in mid-September, so I have some time to visit and look around. Also, if you’re around my age, new to the area, or have gone through a similar move, feel free to comment or DM me. I’d love to hear advice or connect with people in the area. Thank you!

Moved here not too long ago. What fun stuff is there to do ?

Does anyone live in the village?
I have friends visiting for the weekend. What’s the top 5 best things to do in Dallas/Fort Worth in your opinion?
I know there are the stockyards, BBQ, Deep Ellum. What else?

Looking for ideas for a family weekend get together

Were trying to plan a family get together this weekend and want to do something other than just meeting at someone's house. So Im looking for places around that would work for a mixed group with different ages. Maybe somewhere with food, outdoor space, activities or just a nice place where everyone can hang out for a few hours. Any recommendations for a good family friendly weekend spot?

Dallas OBGYN recommendations (doctors experienced with thyroidectomy/history of Thyroid Cancer)

I'm on Medicaid and currently pregnant and looking for doctor recommendations in the Dallas area. I had my entire thyroid removed due to thyroid cancer and my pregnancy is considered high risk. I need an OBGYN or specialist who is experienced in such cases and is able to check my hormone levels frequently and adjust my levothyroxine/medication dose throughout the trimesters.

Beyond care, im looking I am looking for a doctor who is thorough, kind, and open to questions. I feel that many doctors nowadays rush through appointments, brush off concerns, or just arent transparent about everything. Does anyone have any positive experiences or doctor/clinic names they can recommend :)

First time going to Dallas for a game on Nov 15th

Like the title reads, it's my first time going to a game in Dallas. I'm going to be with my best friend who's a 49er fan. I was wondering what there is to do in the surrounding areas and in the stadium (on game day). We'll be there from the 13th to the 16th.

If anyone wants to show us around that would be awesome as we're gonna be renting a car to get around.

DM me if you're down. Or leave some cool suggestions on the post.

(NSFW) Is Dallas Restaurant Manager still employed?

Not sure if this is allowed but didn’t know how else to find answers about this as nothing is really online about it yet.
This month a YouTuber EDPwatch outed a Ped*********e at his place of business (at a very well known steakhouse) and the DPD didn’t really do anything about it when the evidence was brought to officers. The manager even admitted to it on camera as his photos and chats were shown to him. Just curious how the restaurant is handling this and if the manager is still working there. Saddened of the officers response but hopefully another investigation into the manager was opened behind the scenes.
