Cozy Cinema Social #3 -August 29 at 8:30 pm (in-person; Leslieville)

Hi everyone,

I’m organizing another small Cozy Cinema Social get-together at Tango Palace Coffee Company in Leslieville on Saturday, August 29 at 8:30 PM.

I started this little club because I wanted to create something warmer than a bar, less awkward than a big meetup, and more intentional than another night at home. The idea is simple: a small group of people, a thoughtfully selected film, and a relaxed conversation afterward.

The last two gatherings were really lovely. People came with openness and curiosity, and the conversations afterward were thoughtful without feeling formal or forced. I’m hoping to keep that same feeling going: small, cozy, low-pressure, and welcoming.

This is not a networking event, lecture, or big social mixer. You can come solo, with a friend, or with your partner. There is also no pressure to speak during the discussion — listening is completely welcome.

The group is capped at 10 people so it stays comfortable and personal.

Feel free to DM me if you’re interested and I’ll send more information.

Cozy Cinema Social - July 25 at 8:30 p.m. (in-person; Leslieville)

I’m hosting the second Cozy Cinema Social tonight at Tango Palace Coffee Company in Leslieville, and we have 2 spots left.

It’s a small film-and-conversation evening: a thoughtfully selected film followed by relaxed conversation afterward in the café.

This month’s theme is Finding Home — belonging, routine, solitude, and the small rituals that make life feel meaningful.

We have 8 people confirmed and I’m keeping it capped at 10 so the evening stays comfortable and social.

No networking, no forced icebreakers, no big meetup energy. Just a cozy café setting, a shared film experience, and conversation afterward.

Details:

Tonight

Tango Palace Coffee Company, Leslieville

Arrive around 8:15 PM

We begin at 8:30 PM

2 spots left

Eventbrite is being used for free RSVPs. A $20 e-transfer confirms your seat and helps cover the private café rental.

Happy to share the RSVP link if anyone is interested.

Cozy Cinema Social #2 in Leslieville — July 25 at 8:30 pm

Hey folks,

A little while ago I tested a small cinema social idea with a group of friends at a café in Leslieville. The format was simple: a small group, a thoughtfully selected film, and relaxed conversation afterward.

It ended up being a really warm evening, so I’m doing a second one on July 25 and opening it a bit more broadly.

This month’s theme is Finding Home — belonging, connection, and the quiet ways people find their place in the world. I’m keeping it small again, around 10 people max, so it actually feels comfortable and social.

No networking, no forced icebreakers, nothing intense. Just a cozy café setting, a shared film experience, and conversation afterward.

If this sounds like your kind of thing, feel free to comment or DM and I can share details.

Hey folks,

I’m relatively new to Toronto and finding it harder than expected to meet people and build a sense of community here. I’ve tried a few gyms and activities, but nothing really stuck.

So I decided to try something small on my own this June (June 6th) - basically a cozy evening at a café in Leslieville with a film and some casual conversation after. Nothing formal, just a relaxed way to meet people.

I’m keeping it very small (around 10–13 people) so it actually feels comfortable and not overwhelming. Not trying to promote anything big - just seeing if this resonates with anyone else who’s been looking for a more low-key way to connect.

If this sounds like your kind of thing, feel free to comment or DM - happy to share details.
