Decision after positive aptitude assessment result

Has anyone been rejected by TU Dresden for a Master’s after passing the aptitude assessment? If so, what was the reason?

I just had an interview today and already received a positive result of the aptitude assessment. But I am really worried that they still can reject me.

I am also curious how long does it take to release decisions after the interview / aptitude assessment result ?

Thanks

Help: what am I doing wrong

Hey there! I wanted to ask for your honest opinion and advice on how to apply for nanofabrication jobs (as a technician, assistant, or engineer).

I finished my BSc in Physics in June and have 4 years of research experience, including 2.5 years in nanofabrication in ISO 5 and 6 cleanrooms (optical mask lithography, development, reactive ion etching, piranha etching, atomic layer deposition, e-beam deposition, magnetron sputtering). I’ve been working in a quantum sensors lab, where my main role was performing lithography for various projects, from microfluidics to photonics. I’ve been doing this independently, without operators, and I’ve also performed training for the new users of our cleanroom.

I also have 7 months of international internships (at Berkeley and in Japan), where I worked in cleanrooms and with optical setups.

Besides the cleanroom experience, I also have extensive experience with chemical vapor deposition, rapid thermal annealing, and various types of basic characterization (profilometry, Raman, PL, AFM, SEM, cryogenic measurements).

I’ve been applying for nanofabrication jobs for the past few months but keep getting rejected, even from technician roles that require only a BSc in a relevant field. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. For example, yesterday I applied for a job with the requirements above, and today I was already rejected.

I do plan to go to grad school, but I wanted to gain some industry experience first and strengthen my profile before applying for MSc and PhD programs.

Is there anyone knowledgeable here who can offer some advice or insight?

Is there some technique or secret to get this kind of job? Or is it that I need more experience?:(

I am just confused how can I get more experience if I keep getting rejected.

Thank you!

How hard is it to get into a MSc Physics

What the title says. Provided that I fulfill formal academic requirements.
Also, how hard is the interview? How to prepare?
Thank you

Applied to TUM without a VPD, has anyone been in this situation?

I’ve applied to TUM’s MSc QST programme and ran into an issue with uni-assist’s pre-check: my university is internationally accredited, but the accreditation was granted after the application deadline, so the official documentation wasn’t available in time for my application. Uni-assist initially flagged this and rejected the pre-check, but I filed an objection and just received confirmation that they will forward my application to TUM directly for a final decision.

Has anyone else applied to TUM (or other German universities) without a VPD due to a documentation timing issue like this?

Did the university make an independent assessment, or did they simply reject without review?

Can I just attach this email instead of VPD?

Any experience or insight would be appreciated.

MSc Physics (no scholarships)

I’m sorry for the dump question, I didn’t quite understand how the admission process works here. Is it on a rolling basis, or are decisions released in waves? If I haven’t received anything yet, does that mean I’ve likely been placed on the waitlist or rejection list? I saw that some people have already received their acceptances.

I applied on April 22.

Basically what the title says. If you’re a recipient of the DAAD Scholarship for Master’s Studies for All Academic Disciplines, does it carry any weight when the admissions committee evaluates your profile? I am just curious

So, my university has a special status in my country that allows it to follow an American education system rather than the national one. Because of this, it is not fully recognized as a national university and is treated more like a private institution. As a result, its status on Anabin is listed as H+/-. However, my university has QAA accreditation and several other international accreditations.

Since TUM requires a VPD, which is issued through uni-assist, I am worried that uni-assist might reject my application outright. I have attached additional supporting documents ( a letter from the Ministry of Science and Education recognizing the university, the QAA accreditation certificate, and the official law regarding the university’s status.), but I am concerned that this could still affect the result.

Could anyone share their opinion or advice, especially if you have had a similar situation?

The program is MSc Quantum Science and Technology at TUM.
