A Simple Question: Would You Accept This Outside Your House?

Whether you're a local or migrated to Bengaluru, this city is your home now.

Would you be okay if this garbage was dumped in front of your house? If not, don't dump it on our streets.

BBMP's irregular garbage collection is one issue. Lack of civic sense is another.

If your reason is "the garbage vehicle isn't coming regularly," don't throw it on the road. Complain to the BBMP helpline every day. If 50–100 people from the same area raise complaints consistently, it can make a real difference.

Let's demand better BBMP services and be responsible citizens. Bengaluru deserves better.

Need buying advice: Company laptop returning on June 30. MacBook prices just shot up. What would you do

I Need some buying advice.

I was recently laid off and have to return my company MacBook by 30th June, so I need a personal laptop soon. My budget is around ₹70–80k.

I was planning to buy a MacBook Air M2/M3, but they're no longer available on Amazon/Flipkart, and with Apple's recent price hikes, the newer models are out of my budget.

My primary use will be React, Next.js, React Native, interview prep, DSA, and personal projects.

What would you do in my situation?

Stretch the budget for a new MacBook?

Buy a Windows laptop now and switch to a Mac after getting a job?

Go for a refurbished M2/M3?

Would love to hear your suggestions!!

4 YOE React/React Native, laid off. Should I stop applying for a month and learn Node.js?

4 YOE in React.js & React Native.

Got laid off due to restructuring. My last working day is 30-06-2026.

I've been applying through multiple job portals, but responses have been minimal.

For the last 4 years, I barely had time to upskill because work was always hectic (sometimes even nights).

I'm thinking of taking a month to focus on Node.js and build a few full-stack projects instead of spending all my time applying.

Would you:

  • Keep applying while learning?
  • Or take a month to upskill first?

Also, if your company has any openings for Frontend (React/React Native) and you're open to referring me, I'd be really grateful.

One more thing—I also have 6 years of prior experience in Logistics & Operations, so I'm open to Product Manager/Product Owner opportunities in the logistics or supply chain domain as well.

Any advice or referrals would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Everyone's Journey is different

I come from a middle-class family.

3 siblings.

My parents came to Bangalore just to survive and build a better life.

I worked night shifts during my school and college days.

Graduated from what people now call a Tier 3 college.

Back then, I had no idea what "Tier 3" meant. I chose it because the fees were affordable.

I started my career in Logistics & Food Delivery.

I spent 6 years there.

Switched to IT After COVID!

I spent the next 4 years learning and growing.

Then... got laid off last month.

Today, instead of worrying about everything, I'm sitting with my 3-year-old son, watching Motu Patlu.

Life has come full circle.

I've survived tougher days than this.

This layoff is just another chapter, not the end of the story.

Tomorrow, I'll start applying again.

Today, I'm just enjoying this little moment with my son. ❤️

I love Bengaluru, but seeing it turn into a garbage spot is frustrating

AI Generated Image

I'm not posting this to complain for the sake of complaining.

I genuinely care about Bengaluru. This city gave many of us opportunities, careers and a life. That's exactly why it hurts to see residential areas slowly turning into garbage dumping spots.

This is from Vinayaka Layout, Chinnapanahalli (560093).

Problems we face regularly:

• Garbage gets dumped on the roadside.
• BBMP waste collection vehicles are irregular.
• When vehicles don't come on time, garbage piles up.
• Multiple complaints have been raised.
• The concerned person has been informed several times.
• Response and follow-up have been disappointing.
• No permanent solution has been implemented.

What frustrates me most is that this is completely avoidable. Regular collection, proper monitoring and accountability can solve most of these issues.

Bengaluru deserves better than this.

Location: Vinayaka Layout, Chinnapanahalli, Bengaluru.

Garbage collection vehicle hasn’t come to our area for almost 1–2 weeks.

I raised a complaint through 1533, and when I called the staff number they shared, the response was:

“Workers have gone for West Bengal election work, so service is affected.”

I honestly don’t understand how an election in another state can affect basic hygiene in our area here in Bengaluru.

This is not against workers, but shouldn’t essential services like garbage collection have proper backup planning?

Garbage is piling up, stray dogs are tearing bags open, mosquitoes are increasing, and residents are forced to live like this for weeks.

Elections are important. Public hygiene is important too.
