Moc toe pro yard duty.

These are my go to yard work boots. They used to have a white wedge, but it's pretty green now. These see more work than anything but my dedicated work boots. So my other boots are casual/fashion. I'm a bit loud and eclectic. Hope y'all are having a great 250th 4th weekend! Cheers 🥂

4th of July lightning ship.

The main photo is awesome. 😁 Kind of a tease to show boots with toe caps in the product images without the option to order them though.

NLG(Leather Goods)D

I got my sweet new desperado cinnamon field tote today as well as my new turquoise bison shades case and desperado cinnamon slim shade case.

I managed to fit a pair of wellingtons, my work jeans, shirt, and hat, my flask, boot covers, shokz headphones, and both shade cases. The OG Turquoise is for my normal glasses and the slim case is for my chonker safety glasses with the side shields. It works perfectly for the purpose I got it for. I shortened the straps as far as they would go for a hand carry. The handles are perfect for running my Bungie cord through as I put it on the pillion seat on my Goldwing. I may have to keep me a cover for it on the bike in case of rain.

Thanks u/grain-and-twill it's freaking awesome!

Roanoke Denim Ivan Update

So last time I posted an update I had washed them and they lightened greatly. They have been feeling pretty dry so, Friday I gave them a very light coat of 50/50 sweet almond oil/fractionated coconut oil. I let it absorb an hour and power brushed them. Saturday they still felt dry so I did the same process over again. I did an 8 hour prorider slow speed motorcycle training day Sunday in them it was Sunny, 93 with 60% humidity on a black parking lot. Sweaty is an understatement. I gave them damp rag whipe down and a hand brushing Sunday night. I gave them another quick hand brushing before today's pics. They've darkened back up for now, but they still feel dry and I may re-oil them in a couple of weeks. Maybe hit them with my diy Smith's.

Floorboard Friday Tribute edition

Happy Friday! Today's a brown day. PyePye would think I'm looking awful pimp today, but why am I not throwing her ball. 😂 I'm going to send them to Wyatt and Dad to get the raptor sole put on as a protector. I have to use a shoe horn to get them on, but the elastic laces really lock them down and the strap takes care of the uppers. I only laced to the eyelet above the HD notch.

NBD Pye Pye Tribute boots 🤎🤍🖤

These Boots are special to my heart. I lost my beloved Yorkie Miley Pye, Aka Pye Pye, 4/26 @ 6:09 PM. Devastated is an understatement (I still ball daily). Hold on guys this story will let you know the kinda people that work at Nick's. I wanted to build a boot that matched her patterns as best as a leather boot could, and they nailed it. u/shuyler let me build this special one off boot as a tribute for her. He personally reached out gave condolences and made this a lightning ship boot and more. I received so much love from Nick's and this community in my time of need. Thank you Nick's team! I'm Nick's for life! It feels like family here.

These are the most unique build I've ever seen and they pulled it off perfectly! I put in elastic laces to go with the tanker strap, essentially converting these to pull-on boots. I felt it propper to use Spokane and it's base leather Chromepak for the build. I'm blown away is an understatement.

I cried when I opened the box, everything about this boot warms my heart. Thank you community and the Nick's team.

These are my tribute boots to the best dog in the entire world. I'm blessed to have known the love she gave me. I'd give anything for just one more day with her, but then I'd just want one more.

Thank you community and Nick's for all the love and support you gave me during my time of need.

The crazy build.

I love my Pye Pye and my Pye Pye loves me! We are a happy family! I'd sing this to her all the time and I still do at her grave in my yard.

NBD Plaid Doc Wellington Edition.

I got these Monday and I've worn them a few hours. These are my first pair of Wickett and Craig Double Stuffed and they're stiff, but I can tell will break in really nicely. These are Thurman55, this is my 1st T55 boot and I love them. I've gotten used to walking at work (6-7 miles a night) on my black Spokane Wellington wedge hnw comp toes and riding in my Roanoke Denim thurmanNW Ivan's. Do Ivans have a lower heel stack than a normal moderate arch boot? I'm not 100% sold on the higher heel stack yet for walking, although I do love pimping around in Packers. Haha. It is however perfect for what I bought these boots for. I bought these as fashion, looking pimp, shit kicking "hipster" (this is for all the non work boot haters) boots although they would probably be great apocalypse boots. I like to look good in my clothes and boots now that I can afford them. I'm an ex con for growing weed and shrooms, and after being forced to wear white uniforms, I gotta express myself!

Back to the boots. The clickers did an amazing job bringing out the plaid pattern. This leather is supposed to be coming really soon for a limited release and I hope to snag some leather goods in it! Wink wink u/grain-and-twill . Thank you u/smowe for acquiring such cool leathers at Nick's. Y'all are the leather smorgasbord of the PNW makers, and my absolute favorite makers. This boot is of the upmost quality. The clicking, the stitching, the welt stiching, and well just everything. Nick's boots always rock, but these are as perfect as hand made can get. Kudo's to everyone who had a hand in this boot.

The fit, I love a 9.5 D in my lace ups in all of Nick's lasts that I've tried, and even a E with thicker socks. These are 9.5 D, I could do a 9.5 C and that is probably my ideal non insole size, but luckily for me I like insoles and had a medium Nick's insole handy for these. I like to use an insole in my boots if I can as I feel like it gives me a user replaceable component that extends the life of the boot (this could be in my head lol). I follow u/3ringcircu5 's philosophy of using sock thickness to dial in the perfect fit. (Shout-out to Point6 socks , much more merino content (~70%) than darn tough and made an hour from me on Chattanooga, TN). For my foot in this boot a medium Nick's insole with medium weight socks is a perfect fit.

I gotta throw some love to the Western sole. I rode Big Betty, my 925lb Goldwing, in these boots the other day. I pulled up to a red light with a huge oil puddle and they gripped with zero slip. I was seriously impressed. I haven't rode in them in the rain, but I bet they'd be just fine there at well.

Today's hauls

I made an hour trip up to Chattanooga TN today and hit up some recommended stores and the Chattanooga Whiskey Experimental Distillery. The tour included 9 .5oz samples. The batch 348 barrel proof and the 111 are amazing. The experimental batch 47 Strawberry Gin really surprised me it's so delicious like a desert liquor. The batch 48 & 348 are distillery exclusive though.

The Jack Daniels SiBBS rye Coy Hill is some of the best stuff I've ever had the pleasure of tasting! The Old Dominock 8y is so good as well. I was underwhelmed by the Buffalo Trace. Probably because of the hype I was expecting more, but imo the Benchmark Full Proof is a much better pour. (Same mother brand and mash bill).

I by accident found this budget mix that punches so so hard and is so so good. 2:2:1 Benchmark Full Proof: Mellow Corn: OGD 114. This is going to be my daily budget drink.

I gotta reiterate that the Jack Daniels SiBBS rye and Chattanooga Whiskey Experimental Distillery batch 48 strawberry gin, and 111 (available at stores ) are so delicious that if you put some on your forehead, your tongue will bloody your nose trying to get to it!

Spokane Black Wellington update

Well I've worn these to work for 4 half and 1 whole 10 hour day. I probably need a C in those as I'm having to wear my thickest socks, but that should be remedied by the Delta Arch System I won from the dome. The footbed is the worst part of the breakin so far. Seems the ball of my foot land right where the leather flap lands in the footbed and it's thinker than the ones on my other boots. They are comfy with my think socks though. My shift was eliminated at work and I was transferred to a new line in the building. Y'all I got an upgrade in jobs. I'm working the assembly lines now instead of machining. It's so much cleaner. Like night and day. It's also easier but more stressful because it's the money maker line. That being said my boots are no longer going to be tortured by chemicals and swarf. They'll see skuffs and abrasions etc, but they'll be pampered compared to my old job. These have some skuffs, the biggest of from my shifter peg. Lol

Roanoke Denim Ivans - Update

I did some boot maintenance this weekend including the Roanoke Denim Ivans. Wow 🤯 I brushed them off 1st and then took a white T-shirt shop cloth and water to wipe them off... The dark started coming off so I went with it and washed it all off. WOW. Smoking. I let them dry and then hit them with my Milwaukee Horse Hair drill brush.

I also upgraded the laces to Denim Paracord from smokeeatergear.com, a company u/tw1st3dp1p3 is helping launch.

State of the selection ~2 months in

My collection/selection thus far. I really like the JD SiBBS, KC sib rye, KC 12. For the money I think WT101 rye is excellent. The irons one are interesting and I like them a lot too. I don't care for the Evan Williams bonded, the mellow corn is pretty good for it's price point. I like the dread River 250th, but wouldn't pay 99 for it again. I could see either the wt101 or mellow corn being the daily budget drams. I'm also enjoying the Only Drams app. I'm planning on doing the Tennessee whiskey trail this summer as I live in NE Alabama and love road trips on my Goldwing .

Floorboard Friday Denim style and new puppy Day

It's floorboard Friday and my birthday. I told my wife last week, that when I got another dog that I wanted a Chorkie (Chihuahua Yorkie) well she ran across one yesterday and the lady only wanted enough money to make sure soone cared. It just felt right the dog I said I wanted and on my birthday. I took her to Miley's grave and we all had a talk. She's asleep on me right now. She doesn't have s name yet and is in track to be between 5 and 10 lbs. She's still sliddish, but she loves my other doggies. I'm trying to figure out what to name her. Any suggestions?

Birthday spirits (today in 5/15)

Well today's my birthday and I picked up a couple of nicer bottles I cracked open the dread River couple weeks ago to test but saved it for today and then I picked up a bottle of Knob Creek 12 last night. It was $85 at the store I was at not sure if that was a great price or not but it felt reasonable. Also snagged a bottle of mellow corn going to give that $20 bottle a try I heard good things.
