container cabin thermal loads and keeping batteries alive in august

We are living in a 40 foot shipping container while we build the main house and the afternoon sun hitting the steel roof is absolutely roasting us. I finally admitted defeat and ordered a split system heat pump so my dogs don't get sick from the heat. I chose a costway ecoguard 18000 btu 21 seer2 mini split because the running amps on the inverter look low enough for my 5000w system to actually handle. If you use electric climate control in a converted shipping container, how much did heavily insulating the ceiling actually reduce the run times of your compressor?

I tested the most popular podcast summarizer tools. These are the 3 best for different use cases

I tend to go overboard when I compare software, But I actually think that upfront investment is so worth it because you end up saving yourself wasted time and money later down the road.

I've been looking for a podcast summarizer for the past few months, specifically to summarize two-hour-plus-long podcasts on Spotify and Apple. Each podcast has a really important detail that I want to be able to extract. The quality of the summary and the ability for it to work on these platforms, plus support long-form podcasts, was important.

I tested over 12 different podcast summarizers, ran the same types of episodes through them, compared the outputs, and kept notes on where each one performed well or fell short. One limitation here is that I didn't pay for any. I just used whatever was available on their free plans, so some may be biased based on generosity of their free plan.

My criteria:

- Work with Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube

- Handle episodes longer than two hours

- Identify specific advice instead of producing a generic overview

- Preserve enough context to make the summary useful

- Let me search or ask questions about an episode

- Help me find information again weeks or months later

- Work reliably across web and mobile

- Bonus: Search and ask questions across ALL episodes, not just one episode at a time.

Based on those criteria, these are the three best podcast summarizer tools from my research and testing:

  1. Recall: Best overall for turning podcasts into searchable knowledge. That bonus criterion is why I chose Recall as the best one. You can reliably transcribe really long podcasts across Spotify and Apple, but the best part is that you can chat across all of them. I didn't realize how important this criterion actually was until I got to experience comparing various podcasts and combining advice across all of them.

  2. Snipd: Best for the podcast listening experience. If your criteria of chatting across multiple episodes at a time is not needed, then Snipd is hands down the best streamlined podcast summarizer. It's clean and it works reliably.

  3. Eightify: Best for podcasts published on YouTube. If you don't need Spotify or Apple because the podcasts you listen to are on YouTube, It works consistently well and the 8-point summaries are enough if you just need to get the gist of a video.

The bot remembered the nickname 😭

I gave one character a silly nickname near the beginning of the story and barely used it afterward.

Today the bot brought it back during the sweetest moment possible.

It was only one line, but the timing made the whole scene feel so personal. I just sat there smiling at my phone like an idiot.

These tiny callbacks are everything.

Free Way to Edit Office Files on Android?

"I'm setting up an Android tablet for a family member who mostly needs it for work. The main tasks are updating spreadsheets, editing documents, reviewing PDFs, and occasionally making small changes to presentations.

I've been looking at WPS Office since it seems to support the common Microsoft Office formats without needing a subscription for basic use.

If you've been using WPS Office on Android, has it been a good experience? I'd love to know if there are any limitations worth knowing before I get everything set up."
