I think it is important to recognise a few truths about Starmer, Burnham and The Labour Party in it's current state. Everything I present within this post will hopefully be based on objective facts or statements.

We're still waiting to see how Burnham will arrange the cabinet and actions always speak louder than words. So far he has shown support for Mahmoods immigration policies, support for the EHRC decision on the definition of a Women which has gutted trans rights within the UK and he has refused to state Israel is committing a Genocide.

I apologise that some of these sources are instagram links. UK Mainstream Media have done an atrocious job of representing this information. Especially when it comes to trans rights.

• Almost immediately after getting into power he removed the whip from most of the Labour Left within the party, including figures like John McDonnell & Zara Sultana. Some members of The Labour Party left over this and the whip was restored anyway after a year suggesting they knew this was a mistake. This is reinforced by the fact that this entire dispute was about the 2 child benefit cap which The Labour Party later scrapped anyway. The whip removals didn't stop there either. In July 2025 multiple MPs were suspended for their opposition against Welfare reforms.
• He allowed McSweeney to repeatedly influence his decisions, including the appointment of Peter Mandelson.
• Starmer stated our country could become an "island of strangers" if we continued on our current path. Whilst he later stated he regretted this it still happened. He has done nothing but support Mahmoods immigration reforms despite other MPs calling the policies "performative cruelty" and "dystopian". Tommy Robinson was gleeful about the changes suggesting the Overton Window had been obliterated.
• On the 12th of June Starmer defended increased defence spending in an interview with Chris Mason (BBC). He stated this was a "Hard Edge decision". He also stated most of the money would come from cutting international development assistance and humanitarian aid to developing countries. For examples organisations like Rainbow Railroad that help LGBTQ+ people escape conflict zones that now face a massive funding gap.
• On the topic of LGBTQ+ people Starmer has also supported The Supreme Courts decision on the legal definition of a Woman. Stating "No, the Supreme Court judgment has made clear that when looking at the Equality Act, a woman is a biological woman". By doing this he has actively chosen to obliterate the rights of all transgender people within the UK. Gender Recognition Certificates are now useless and the UK is now ranked on-par with Hungary for transgender rights according to the IPSOS 2025 Pride Report. A new EHRC code of conduct is about to go into force that that has a plethora of concerns attached. Even the leader of the Liberal Democrats Ed Davey has switched their stance on the issue stating the code of conduct as "exclusionary, unworkable and deeply concerning".
• To add salt into the wound Starmer allowed Streeting to basically do whatever he wanted. A man who received about 60% of his political donations from private healthcare companies. The list of concerns around Streetings treatment of people with ADHD, trans people etc.. could fill a 30 page document so instead of linking sources I encourage you to look this up. Look at The Good Law Project specifically and Philosophy Tube.
• He met with Palantir personally and refused to disclose any details about the private conversation he had. The company now has contracts in virtually every single sector in the UK including the military. That was ultimately his decision to make.
• Starmer put forward a conditional recognition of Palestine based on Israel's actions using the country as a political pawn.
• 4 of the Filton 25 were convicted of acts of Terrorism totalling 26 years without the judge telling the jury they would be convicted as terrorists. This was the finale of a set of events The Labour Party put into motion, supported by Starmer.
• Starmer seems to have been relatively inactive on the decision to scrap Jury Trials for certain cases. This is despite nearly 40 Labour warning the MP about the consequences.

As most of you know this is the absolute tip of the Iceberg and I haven't discussed more well known facts such as The Labour Parties decision to attack disabled people, farmers, pensioners, people who can't fight back in numbers.

All of this shows The Labour Party wont change if figures like Mahmood, Lammy, Streeting etc... remain within the party in ministerial roles.

I'm re-posting this today because parliament conveniently went into recess 10 days ago. It's resumed today, just in time for pride month.

Parliament is about to enter into recess for 10 days so send a letter now and on June the 1st to make sure it gets read.
