Dealing with the multiverse

on one hand life is ok in my little corner. on another hand the world is currently on fire, scorched and staring down the barrel of a major energy and subsequent food crisis. im having trouble juggling the present and what feels like a truly unknowable future. some days I just have to throw my arms in the air and smell the flowers, other days it feels like the weight of civilization is collapsing on my particular shoulders. is this something y’all experience these days? how are you managing? what are you doing with your mental health? spiritual health?

Did you ever have to work/ still work in a “cubicle”? What was/is that like?

just thinking of all the ways we get sequestered into obscure spaces for “jobs”…. cubicles have to be one of the more exemplary methods of creating an environment to unhinge people. how did you soldiers handle cubicle life?

you know it’s time. Get off your damn phone. It’s time to touch grass. it’s time to sit and stare at a wall. it’s time to heal your brain from the slot machine in your hands. Go talk to someone. Have a picnic with a squirrel just get out there. I promise it’s better. I’m well aware this isn’t a question. That is all

Hey every one, so as the title states I’m about to enter into weekly in-person lessons with a new teacher. They are 30 minute lessons and I’m really trying to have that time pack a punch. One of my thoughts was to just go through the William Leavitt book at least books 1 and 2. This way I’d be practicing reading music and learning pieces as well as building vocab. It seems like a tried and true method. Has any one done this or have any advice for how to approach lessons after a long time away in kind of a self practice plateau?

My biggest goal is being able to sit in on jazz jams, expand my harmonic understanding and really work on my time.

Thanks for any advice you think would be helpful!
