My “lil guy” Spore absolutely loves being out of his enclosure. He’s never bitten or tried to strike at me. I can easily go into his enclosure and scoop him out whenever I need too, or for handling. I’m truly grateful for his trust and calm demeanour.

Spores settled in nicely after just nine days. Spore came from a home where they handled frequently, so she’s quite accustomed to it. Even under two weeks old, she’s surprisingly relaxed. I won’t hold her for another week or so, just to give her more time to rest. I’m happy I managed to get some photos. This is truly my third time ever holding a Leachianus gecko, and it’s my own. It’s incredibly special.
As of right now Spores I’m thinking a “she” as the previous owner thought she was female too. I shared a photo to AI and it thinks Spores a male. I’ll have to include & take some photos of the tail region. Hopefully female so, I have my male created and a female Leachie but, Spores looking stocky which is making me lean towards him being a male. Any experts in the chat that would be able to tell without the tail?
(Further inspection of the tail region confirms that Spore’s a male.) 😅
Just picked up this beautiful Nuu Ami Leachianus Gecko from a friend who owned her for a few years. Such a sweetheart, I had her chilling on my arm the entire drive home and she just licked me. She’s never bit the previous owner, she just gives off a a few squeaks / barks when irritated. (Classic leachie behaviour). I’m a first time Leachianus owner, and 2nd reptile owner. I got into this hobby about 6 months ago. I have a crested gecko named Quattro, once I got him I was hooked. I’m hoping to add a Tokay, and Chameleon to the mix one day. I know they’re all intermediate reptiles so, I’ll make sure to research & know about all their husbandry needs before hand.
