A question for all BYD/Hyundai/Kia EV owners

Mahindra’s service experience has been really bad. Firstly appointment booking in itself takes 3-4 weeks. Small software glitches are common. And communication is stupid (like for small things, they’ll redirect you to 3-4 people and in the end no one contacts you).
I was wondering if BYD has all of this sorted? Because significantly lesser cars to deal with, and at least from the outside it looks like BYD has more reliable EVs than Mahindra/Tata.

If anyone has the same info about Hyundai/Kia - your thoughts are welcome.

How do you guys pick mutual funds?

Risk appetite: Aggressive

I have been investing in ETFs for a couple of years, and now want to increase my capital in MFs. How does one go about researching MFs? Is it

A. Deep diving into the fund manager's history

B. Understanding what the fund is investing in and choosing what you like best

And does the AMC matter?

I'd love to hear how experienced investors have gone about selecting their MFs for long-term horizons.

2 weeks+ waiting periods for servicing

Is this even normal? Thankfully it’s just routine servicing, but what if my car wasn’t working? Are other brands also this bad?

The only book I’d read to lose weight

The Obesity Code by Jason Fung.
Summary: A book about how sugar avoidance and intermittent fasting is the best way to lose weight sustainably.

Read this, applied it, lost 15 kilos without working out/10k steps.

Narrowly avoided a scam, but I need street smart advice

Driving my car the rain, a guy on a scooty signals me to stop on the side of the road.
He goes “Tune meko takkar maara yada yada. My part has broken worth 5.5k”
I didn’t feel anything on my car and should have been confident.
But I’d never encountered something like this.
So I’m like okay relax, I’ll settle by gpay. He’s like I don’t have GPay, yahan ATM hai paas mein. (This should have been a big clue but honestly my heart was fast)
Then he’s stopping random Zomato guys maybe asking if they have cash and I can pay their QR. While he was at it, I called the cops and was in the middle of describing my location when he’s like go.

Learnings:

  1. If someone’s not in a vardi, never stop
  2. Just ask people to take a photo of the car and call the insurance company
  3. Relax

My question:
Yall have any tips to deal w such road incidents from experience? What’s the ideal thing to do if someone claims they hit you, and no one has any proof of anything?

Shall I put all my money in a single ETF?

Not the way you're thinking.

So I wanna invest 5L in a Nifty 50 ETF. So should I pick an ETF from a single company and invest it all there? Or should I buy 2-3 Nifty 50 ETFs and split the money in between them?

I'm not expecting different returns, just checking if it's a regular practice to split your money into multiple ETFs of the same thing. Eg: If Quant or Mirae ever suffer a huge problem, would it affect their ETFs in any way? Or like if the companies close down all of a sudden (I know it's implausible, just asking to get an understanding)

Does anyone else view auto-candidate mode as cheating?

Been doing the NYT soduku since some time now. I have auto candidate on, and then I simply eliminate from there to victory, relatively easily for medium/hard puzzles. It almost feels like a cheat code.

I can only justify it because in my head I'm like, "This isn't something difficult, just time-consuming."

Do you use auto candidate mode?

Honest thoughts about the Anker Nano Power Bank.

Got the Anker Nano Power Bank (5,000 mAh) for my iPhone 16 Pro. Got it mainly because I often hesitate to spend a long day with my phone at 50-60%, and a compact powerbank would help.

So far, whenever I charge, my phone heats up like crazy. The charging, too, is slow. I'm unsure if this is an Anker issue or maybe I have a problem with the entire concept of wireless power banks. I can recommend the 10,000 mAh version, which I've been using for years, as I haven't had the same heating issues with it.

All said, wired with an attached cable is probably the way to go.

An ETF-only portfolio by ChatGPT. Thoughts?

My requirement: A portfolio designed to give maximum CAGR in the next 30 years as a passive investor, prioritising maximum coverage.

Here's what it returned:

35% Nifty Total Market ETF

25% NASDAQ 100 ETF

20% Nifty Smallcap 250 ETF

10% Nifty 200 Momentum 30 ETF

10% India Manufacturing ETF

Thoughts?
