Merging PS3 Store with the PS4/PS5 Store
Today Sony announced that the PS3 Store is closing in July 2027 and in some regions even earlier. So I wanted to ask if that is technically possible to migrate the PS3 Store with the newer ones in terms of security and payment. For example on the Xbox 360 you can still buy new games on newer consoles or on xbox.com and download them in your Xbox 360 via download history. Wouldn’t be something similar possible on PS3? You buy games on your PS4/PS5 or playstation.com even if it is not compatible on current gen and then it will appear in the PS3 download history (For example you want to purchase Prince of Persia Trilogy digitally on current gen you can do that, but it will tell you that it is only compatible with PS3). A similar functionality was done with PSP if I remember correctly. You could (still can) buy games on your PS3 and then it will appear in the PSP download history.
