According to someone (I think a FLC staff member) Mer1t injured himself closing the bathroom door.
VP have chosen Al Qad, SSG have chosen Lunex.
People in the community are pissed off after watching the 300k tournament because it felt uncompetitive. This always happens when teams are imbalanced. The main issue lies with NetEase, they have no interest in giving their teams any structure, no one is gonna want to play the game when their streamer loses badly. There should never be a team with streamers like Flats, Jay3, Kingsman all on it because theyre clearly heavily favoured to win and they dont add new viewership to the game. The Canadian team seems to have gone for a less serious team too and it shows that theres very clearly a issue with the way people are viewing the tournament. People arent gonna like the game after seeing their streamer get flamed for trying to play a character they enjoy. Teams that actually take part in the spirit of the event and make teams to have fun are always gonna lose to the teams that play to win.
Seems like itll be cool to have them there.
Mizuki, Ana and Emre seem like a decent line up, hoping we get to see more heroes though, maybe specific to their team.

Twisted Minds 0 - 3 Virtus Pro
Al Qadsiah 3 - 0 Geekay Esports
This year at EWC 2026, there will be a new group stage format involving 2 groups only with 8 teams in each group competing in a double elim bracket to make it through to playoffs.
The main benefits seem to be an increased number of inter regional games which is fun. The only downside is that there are slightly fewer stakes attached to the actual regional stage since seeding will have slightly less impact most likely and your 'true' seed for playoffs will be determined by the group performance.
Clip (timestamped for convenience) from a recent OWTV interview discussing this format briefly: https://youtu.be/UYFf6E-xqIM?t=23m51s
With 3 teams confirmed for EWC, including elite players such as Junbin, Fielder and Hydron, which teams do you expect from other regions to be strong enough to qualify? I think EMEA will be particularly interesting between 3rd and 4th given how competitive Al Qad and Geekay look although Kellex is a huge upgrade for Geekay. I imagine Liquid (+ Attack and Kivis) will be very strong and might be better than SSG. I think Korea's pretty much solved in the sense that most people expect Zeta and T1 to join the others at EWC unless Void turns out to be insane and carries Zanside.
Is it time for the Symmetra Lower Bracket Sweep?
Some OWCS viewers seem to doubt NA and think its among the weaker regions in the entire circuit. However, after intensely watching for two years, I think I've found the reason why NA underperformed last year and why NA will win every LAN this year. All NA need to beat EMEA is a team with an Overwatch League name. Look at how much better the Toronto Defiant was performing compared to any of the NA teams last year. There isn't a single player quality difference between NA and EMEA teams and the Dallas Fuel will prove it by winning Champions Clash this weekend. #BurnBlue #PainkillerApproved
Its not a perfect change to the ranked systems internal issues that let players get boosted but its a good change regardless and its nice to feel heard on it somewhat.
