Is $550 worth the buy?

I have a 2020 SE with the dq381. I found a used, unmarried COBB access port near me with a stage 1 and 2 tune already on it. I got the guy down to $550 for the access port with the tunes, do you think I should keep negotiating? He started at $800

Is $550 worth it?

Wiring Fog Lights

I have a 05 1500 WT that does not come with fog lights from the factory. I found a new set on facebook and i plan to buy them, but am worried about wiring them up. I want to wire them to the DRLs so they stay on only when the DRLs are also on. Any tips? Should i go to a specific fuse or what?

Electric Cooling Fan Adjustment

I own a little 05 4.8L 1500 WT and i’ve noticed something with my scan tool. The electric cooling fans don’t turn on until the ECM sees the coolant at 226 degrees fahrenheit. In my opinion, that’s a little to high for me, i’d like them to stay at or around 205-215F. They normally do unless i’m sitting in heavy traffic or idling is when the temp raises. Right now, i’ve resorted to having my A/C on to keep fans on, but i want to code the ECM to trigger the fan at a lower temperature. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Is this a bad waterpump?

My 2020 GTI SE is my secondary car which I last drove on sunday until today. On Sunday, i started to notice a whining noise that was intermittent after driving it for 30 minutes or so. Today (Wednesday) I replaced the PCV valve assuming that’s what it was. Did not fix my issue and now it has gotten worse. It seems to be the loudest around the PCV/High pressure fuel pump/Intake manifold area. I’m not sure if the water pump can make noises like this, I’m aware it’s driven by a separate belt. Please let me know if any of you have heard or dealt with anything similar.

Quickest & Safest way to make power?

‘20 SE with the dq381 DSG. I want to push more power and i know there are plenty of way to do so. I only have an axle back exhaust and an ARM intake right now, all else is stock. I plan to go with the ARM intercooler and ARM catless downpipe paired with the EQT stage 2 ecu tune. I have heard much disagreement between which downpipe will be the best bang for my buck, i’ve heard the 3 inch catless will make more power than a 4.5 inch and vise versa. My question is, what do you all think? Is there proof one is better than the other? For people on those setups, what power do you make?

Who knew Amsoil sells decent intake systems?

Ordered a Amsoil intake kit for about 120, looks pretty decent. The onoy other option was blue, i think the red looks better.

Muffler Delete

Cut muffler off and welded a 2.75 - 3 - 2,75 inch pipe with fittings in between. Amazed at how much different it sounds

bought my 05 reg cab with 170k on it, pretty sure still original front suspension. Should i pull the trigger on this or not worth it? Has to be better than worn out 170k mile control arms right?

EA888 gen 3 with 70k on it. It makes this rattle/ticking noise every time on coldstart. Seem to dissipate after it idles down, but is 100% non existent after driving it. I’ve heard that it’s just the way they operate, but what or where is it actually coming from?

I became the 2nd owner of my ‘20 mk7.5 this past July. Now at 70k and 12,000 miles of driving, I got to know its quirks pretty well. The “quirks” include the suspect dq381 DSG noises when coming to a stop, the ticking/tapping until it idles down from a cold start, clicking/creaking when turning the wheels full lock, etc. It has not let me down, and I stick to the 5k 5w40 oil changes, on its 2nd DSG flush and fill (was just peace of mind). Other than that, I really had no previous records of any service done, and I know these cars can be needy. It seems to run fine now, just need opinions from similar mk7 owners about either selling or keeping and continuing the maintenance item list. Also some pointers for when stuff should be changed and what important stuff is to pay attention to would be really helpful. This is my first VAG car, all it has is a muffler delete and an intake. i’m more used to older bmw’s and GM products.

4.8L 05 silverado. First oil pressure picture is at idle after driving, and second is mid cruise.
