Help identifying a jet boat pump

Hi all I would like help identifying this jet pump. I would also like to know whether it is a good pump and whether it would be a good deal to buy as a project (it comes with a running rover v8 in a boat on a trailer for 600 bucks all in rough condition). Any help that people can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Td42 turbo conversion

Hi all,
I am looking at turbocharging my td42 GQ patrol and was looking for some confirmation and insight into my plan. For background my car is a 1989 GQ patrol with a silver top td42 N/A with around 470,000. So far my parts list is as follows:
-Mambatek td05 16g oil cooled vband turbo or maybe a factory ht18 turbo if I can find a good deal on marketplace
-Gturbo low mount cast iron turbo manifold
- generic eBay intercooler setup for front mount
- pull motor and fix all oil leaks, fresh paint, new rear main for peace of mind while out, new exhaust studs
I am also wondering whether I will need to upgrade to an 11mm boost comp pump from a GU to reach my goal of around 120 to 130rwkw. I am only hesitant to do this as my 10mm pump was replaced with a brand new part around a year ago. I would also like to keep the very low down power and torque to retain that almost truck like feel these cars have. I have heard that maybe the ht18 turbo does not provide this feeling and maybe would not provide the power level I am looking for. If there is anything I am missing or anyone has any helpful advice it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Using propane to heat steel

Hi all, I’m not sure if this is the right subreddit for this but not sure where else to post. I need to heat 75 x 4 mm steel flat bar to red hot in order to bend it to make a bullbar. I know that an oxy acetylene setup would be perfect for this but is unfortunately out of my budget at this point. I am wondering if there is any way to do this using some sort of propane burner similar to what you would use in a forge to heat the steel. I am not sure that is would work though as the heat would not be contained by an insulated forge. Any advice or alternative suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Exhaust brakes on td42

Hi all I am going to put exhaust brakes with a guillotine style vale on my td42. Instead of having holes in the slide to relive built up pressure I am going to have a blow off valve to release the excess pressure. My only concern is figuring out what pressure to have the blow off valve open at to avoid floating the exhaust valves. I am thinking around 35 psi as this is near the upper limit of what I have heard people running boost wise which by my thinking would have similar concerns relating to valve float. For reference my motor is an N/A Silvertop TD42. Any insight or information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance

Removing methanol for freeze distillation

Hi All, I am very new to distilling and am going to attempt freeze distillation from a brown sugar wash. Although there is negligible methanol produced by fermenting sugar, could I heat the fermented wash to just above 65C to remove any possible methanol as long as I make sure it doesn’t get above the boiling point of methanol? Also, will I need to provide extra nutrient for the yeast and if so, what would people recommend.
Thank you in advance.
