So I heard about the planet lineup thing that was going on and went outside to see it, photographed Saturn to the best of my ability with my limited research, and got these blurry but saturn colored blobs.
Now I’m extremely interested in this. How do I start? I know a bit about stuff because I’ve been dealing with weather satellites but definetly not as much as I need. Do you guys have any tips?

Hi, so I am trying to capture images from Meteor M2-3 or 2-4, but fail. I get no lock, 0.41 bit error rate, even with insanely good passes. Here is my configuration so far:
Hardware:
- Nooelec Nesdr Smart v5
- A V Dipole off of eBay (I set length to 53cm)
- Long coax cable
Software
- SatDump
- Sat Tracker (https://github.com/Zzza38/sat-tracker)
I’ve been trying but I’ve never gotten a good signal. I did successfully receive FM radio stations so my hardware does work, but I don’t know. I’m going to get a really nice Meteor M2-4 pass (80º) in ~3.5 hours, I’ve set SatDump to auto record. My antenna is currently mounted on a plastic thing facing roughly north. Are there any suggestions on what to do or any info you might have? I’m recording so I can upload the file if needed.
I also can very faintly see ORBCOMM-ish activity.
If anybody can inspect the recorded file, I’ll upload it later in ZIQ CS16 format.
