Dear Seniors, I am going to join MNNIT in the upcoming session and was having some doubts about the hostels for the first year? Currently I know that there are 4 seater rooms in 1st to 4th floor and 4 seater in 5th to 7th floor.

Are there only 3 and 4 seater rooms available or are there any other choices?

Are we allowed to choose our room if we arrive early during room allotment?

How many rooms are there on each floor?

How many washrooms are there on each floors and what are there conditions?

What are some good places here to eat, some places to get entertained or just chill. I am a Student going to Join MNNIT Allahabad next month, so would like to have some suggestions.

Is there any dedicated whatsapp grp or any other platform for MNNIT freshers 2026, where we can talk with seniors and interact with our future batchmates. I have seen multiple grps for other nits which are largely active, but didn't found any for MNNIT.

Future batchmates help me if you are already connected with the seniors and other students OR maybe if their isn't any, we can make one.

How are you uploading the class 12th marksheet and what are you uploading in state proof of eligibility? Any one got these 2 documents verified yet, pls help me.

During admission, which all documents are required during offline verification.

Will I need to issue an Income certificate, even if I don't opt for any scholarship?

Just need it to have an Idea, like what is available on different day of the week.

Can someone guide me cause I didn't do much research for not durgapur prior to this, I have ece at MNNIT allahbad, Bhopal, Jamshedpur, Jaipur and Electronics and instrumentation at nit Rourkela. Is not durgapur cse a better option then these considering I live in Uttar Pradesh. Also do share thoughts about college life, placements, professors, opportunities etc. it would be a great help.

I am getting Electronics and instrumentation Engineering and Electrical Engineering as possible options here at NIT Rourkela. It would be of great help if I could get some guidance from my seniors regarding these branches, college life, professors, hostel, alumni network and placements at my respective branch. There is no dedicated whatsapp group for NIT Rourkela(not that I know of) therefore please guide me.
