An Airman Came Home From Deployment to Find His Husky Had Been Left to Die Alone

Andrew Beckham did everything he thought he was supposed to do before deploying with the Colorado Air National Guard. He arranged for someone to stay in his home and care for Maverick, his 11-year-old Siberian husky, while he was away.

Instead, the house sitter stole Andrew's vehicle, disappeared with Maverick, and abandoned them both. Nearly a month later, Andrew's Subaru was found in a parking garage in Denver. Maverick was still inside. He had died alone.

The suspect has since been arrested and bailed out of jail, and that doesn't undo what happened or erase the emotional and financial toll Andrew has endured. He lost his best friend while serving our country and returned home to a tragedy no pet owner should ever experience. Authorities say the suspect damaged the owner’s home, took both the vehicle and Maverick before abandoning the car in a gated parking garage where Maverick later died.

If you're able, please consider supporting Andrew's fundraiser or simply sharing his story. Every donation and every share helps. Even if you can't contribute financially, helping more people see this post means a lot.

Thank you for taking a moment to read Maverick's story. He deserved so much better.
