Underwhelmed by Dolby Cinema?

Dolby gets a ton of hype and seems like the people who post that like it say how much better it is over IMAX.

I've only been to the Mercado 20 one though, which apparently people say is the best one in the Bay Area. So supposedly I'm seeing it in a good theater and I've tried sitting in each of the the 3 rows behind the handicap (I think D, E, F?). Yes its a nice large screen, but to me it feels like I'm sitting to far away from it even in row D?

IMAX at both Sunnyvale and Mercado 20 I feel fully immersed in the screen. Certainly the sound at the IMAX at the Mercado needs a refresh, but for me I notice that less then feeling like I'm watching a very large screen but I'm not close enough to it to enjoy the immersion of the large screen in the Dolby theater. As far as the audio goes, I felt like the IMAX sound in the Sunnyvale one is just as good as the sound at the Dolby theater at the Mercado.

I also think it has do with how the Dolby theater is a flat screen and the IMAX are curved screens (although I was looking a it looks like the Sunnyvale Dolby is curved)? I should probably try the Sunnyvale Dolby to see if its better.

For me personally I'd say that yes the IMAX at the Mercado is the best immersive experience and I'd certainly prefer seeing things like Star Wars in 3D there, but for more "everyday" movies (going to see Moana this week) that I'm preferring the Sunnyvale IMAX due to the recliners, sitting in those IMAX rockers suck and I'll only deal with it for major films I'm really excited to see in 3D.

I also haven't really noticed the contrast and HDR difference that Dolby is supposed to have over IMAX. Was this a bigger difference maybe before we had laser and were still using Xenon bulbs?

I'm just very confused as people really hype up Dolby and for me I'm just not getting that "amazing" experience they seem to be getting. What am I missing?

Not a Horror Fan, just a "Comedy Horror" Fan

At least now I know Evil Dead is dead for me as without Bruce there will be no more Comedy Horror versions of Evil Dead coming out.

Kind of sad to just see the writing though just go typical horror, doesn't feel like Rise or Burn has anything special about it that any other horror movies just can't replace. Kind of wish they would of called these films something else as they are something completely different from the first 3 films.

Hoping someone figures out the new formula to bring back dong "80s B Style Movies".

I do plan to go see Scream.

Solaris Boots with Low Arch and Sizing?

I know they come with insoles that have a high arch, but I could just get low arch insoles and apparently you can heat mold out the arch in the bottom. Anyone with low arches confirm that this would work?

I went to DSW and measured my feet. Without socks R is 284.2mm, L is 283.7mm. With my skate socks they are R is 286.7mm, L is 286.2mm. It seems I'm pretty much a perfect size 11, or should I have mm or two of room? My ball width with socks on is R 273.5mm, L 264.4mm, so the C/AA sizing (254mm to 273mm) my R foot is right on the edge, but I'm guessing I can heat mold/stretch that part out. With socks on my heel width according to DSW is "avg" at 72.6mm on both, but without socks they are slightly narrow at 69.2mm.

I'm hoping that these could fit right as anything over size 10 generally has to be made and can take 8-10 weeks. Empire Skate has a factory second of the Solaris 2.0 boot in size 11 in stock, but it would be a final sale at $326 (tax + shipping $360). I already have the Avenger plate in the right size for size 11 in Solaris.

Technically I could drive down 6 hours to try them on, but that would cost me about $165 in gas. At that point I could buy them and if they don't work out, probably still resale them, even at $250-300 and still be ahead instead of driving down.

Thoughts?
