[AMA] We're the devs of Schrodinger's Cat Burglar - Abandoned Sheep!

Hi r/gaming!

We’re Abandoned Sheep, the developers of Schrodinger’s Cat Burglar, which launched just yesterday on Steam! ⤵️
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2111550/Schrodingers_Cat_Burglar/

What’s Schrodinger’s Cat Burglar?

Amidst a heist gone wrong, Mittens — the world's greatest (and most literal) cat burglar — finds herself caught in a quantum experiment, and gains incredible powers.

The game is based around a central quantum mechanic — at the press of a button Mittens can split into two cats, who can each be controlled to solve puzzles and cause trouble.

BUT THERE’S A TWIST –

The quantum superstate obeys Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle - when nobody is looking, Mittens could be in either location. If she’s observed however, things get theoretical…

🚪 Pass through doors (that could theoretically have opened).

🚓 Avoid security detection (you can’t see what doesn’t exist).

🧵 Quantum mechanics plus cats. No strings attached!

The Story So Far

Lead developer Martin has been working on the game for over 8 years, largely as a hobby project, before moving into full time development after receiving some valuable funding from Screen Australia, Screen Queensland and the developers of Unpacking, Witch Beam, which helped take the project to the next level. We launched the game last night and can’t believe that we’re currently sat in 6th place in New and Trending on Steam and after four critic reviews, we have an 86 on Metacritic!!

I've finally released my indie game, Schrodinger's Cat Burglar!

Hi r/indiegaming hope you guys are doing well. I've absolutely loved sharing posts here over the last year or so, getting your feedback and sharing news on the development of Schrodinger's Cat Burglar.

Yesterday, I finally launched my game, Schrodinger's Cat Burglar to the world and I am SO thrilled with the response! Currently, we're sat in 4th in the New and Trending, although I'm sure that will shift over the day.

The game has been in development for over 8 years and it certainly hasn't all been sunshine and rainbows. Lots of hard work, and many moments of doubt. Even at launch we've already seen a couple of small bugs, but nothing we haven't been able to pounce on!

Thanks so much for your support over all this time and if you want to play, please do check it out on Steam!

Give the people what they want, I guess

Listening to the community has to be one of the hardest (but most important) parts of gamedev. For Schrodinger's Cat Burglar, this was absolutely a lesson we had to learn, again and again. I think it paid off though - and we're nearly through the maze. Launching on Steam tomorrow!

Hi gang, happy Saturday. I try not to spam too much, but wanted to share my excitement at dropping the release date for my game, Schrodinger's Cat Burglar! In the game, Mittens the cat gains quantum powers - the ability to be in two places at once. She exists in two plausible positions to solve puzzles and cause chaos (in both solo or coop). When seen however, her second position becomes theoretical and is able to perform feats at the cross-section of science and magic, such as walking through closed doors (that theoretically could have opened). Check the trailer!
