Need help identifying marks on these antique scissors

Hi everyone,

I recently found these large antique shears. They have several distinct markings:

- "C. Bradford" engraved on the blade (sounds British or American?).

- "G.J." inside an oval under the screw.

- A caduceus/winged symbol with a small inspection stamp on the other side.

Does anyone recognize the manufacturer "G.J." or the specific winged stamp?

Any info on the era or origin would be highly appreciated!

Thanks!

How are you handling inheritance/succession for your Bitcoin if something happens to you?

Been thinking about this a lot lately and I'm surprised how little solid discussion there is on it here.

Most of us have our seed phrase secured somehow: steel plate, multisig, hardware wallet... But that security works against us the moment we're not around anymore to use it. If something happens to me tomorrow, my wife has no idea how to access any of it, and honestly even if I wrote instructions down, that defeats the whole point of keeping the seed secure in the first place.

The "traditional" answers people throw around don't really hold up:

  • Telling a family member the seed = single point of failure, now they're a target, and you have to fully trust one person
  • Lawyer/notary holding instructions = most have zero crypto literacy, and you're back to relying on a centralized party
  • Multisig with a trusted contact = better, but still complex to set up correctly and most people don't bother

Curious how people here have actually solved this in practice, not just in theory. Did you set up a multisig specifically for inheritance? Do your heirs know what to do? Did you involve a notary or lawyer, and if so how did that conversation even go since most of them know nothing about crypto?

Feels like a real gap between how seriously we take security day-to-day and how little thought goes into what happens after.

French silver box with mirror — help identifying the maker's mark?

Found this at a French frocante. Silver box with a mirror inside, Art Nouveau mistletoe relief on the lid.

There are hallmarks on the base but I can't read the maker's mark clearly.

Hoping someone here can help identify it 🙏

Found this sterling silver ring – can anyone identify the maker?

Hey everyone!

I found this beautiful havy sterling silver ring with what appears to be an Art Nouveau style? It features an openwork design with organic curves and a teal/green cabochon stone.

The ring is marked "STERLING" in a pointed cartouche, and there seems to be a secondary circular maker's mark that I can't quite read.

Can anyone identify:

The maker's mark?

The green stone (turquoise? chrysocolla? glass?)?

Thanks in advance!

Found in France metal detecting — old ring, any ideas on origin/material?

Hey everyone!

Found this ring metal detecting in France. Dark patina, floral repoussé decoration, open shank with a scroll clasp on the side. Material look like silver, but no visible hallmarks so far.

Any ideas on origin, age, material and if it's a ring or anything else?

Anyone recognize the silver mark "900 GOBEL"?

Found a set of 4 silver saucers (900‰) stamped "900 GOBEL" on the front. Beaded rim, neoclassical style, likely late 19th–early 20th century. Probably German, Austrian or Bohemian origin but can't find any reference to this maker anywhere.

Anyone know who GOBEL is? Region? Workshop? Any lead appreciated! 🙏

Hey everyone! I recently came across this beautiful twisted link bracelet and I'm trying to learn more about its maker.

What I know so far:

- The clasp is stamped **925**, confirming it's sterling silver

- There's a second hallmark: an **oval punch** with the letter **S**, a **6-petal flower/rosette** in the center, and the letter **F**

- The style is classic Italian San Marco chain, likely from the **1960s–1980s**

- The bracelet is solid and heavy, good craftmanship, box clasp with safety lock

My questions:

  1. Has anyone seen this **"S 🌸 F"** oval hallmark before? Could it be an Italian maker's mark from Valenza, Arezzo or Vicenza?

  2. Is the flower a regulatory symbol or just a decorative separator between the maker's initials?

  3. Any idea of the manufacturer or workshop behind the "SF" initials?
