South Of Heaven metal festival 5-7 June

I'm heading over with a couple of friends, anybody here going? Are there any surprising or "good to know" factors for us to consider? It's super appealing with the central location, presumably you can.go in/out as you want as long as you're not too inebriated?

- Any bars in central Maastricht that are planning related parties for the visiting metaller?

- Record stores good for metal in zentrum?

- One of my friends has never been to NL and wants to visit a coffee shop on Friday, but tourists can't go to those in Maastricht if I understood right?

- There are train reparations happening that weekend so Eindhoven is a no-go, and we're coming from Amsterdam (I'm coming from Schiphol). Is there a route down that bypasses Eindhoven, or should be just expect to get put on a replacement bus service there and then back on a train once past the track repairs?

- Any dangers / dodgy areas to be aware of? We'll probably not go anywhere further away from zentrum than the festival

I might circle back later if other questions come up, guessing it's a small audience for SOH here :)

Guy that asked about hanging out on the craft beer thread, I tried to drop you a message in case it didn't show up!

The Brokenwood Mysteries

I'm applying the kiwiana flair here, and that's because I live in Sweden and over the last 2-3 years, The Brokenwood Mysteries has arrived on a streaming channel here and just got bigger, and bigger. I'm being regularly accosted by my workmates, or even people I meet who learn I'm from NZ, all wanting to know "is that typical NZ in the show"?

I can't answer, as I've never watched it and not been interested in doing so. I have presumed, rightly or wrongly that's it's a Kiwi version of Midsummer Murders, but with a weak script, average acting and flashbacks of early Shortland St.

But, I looked it up now and it's into it's 14th season or something. So is it good? Or is it just popular overseas with audiences not feeling that domestic Kiwi cringe factor that seems to be a never ending deal where our local television shows are concerned?

So yeah is it good? Is it "typical NZ"?

Total map failure!

So, most of this map is fine. But the grey section under NO GO!Stairs is a bathroom which beloved Ripley has failed to ever include in her mapping. I just stuck her in there now, closed the door, she cleaned it, it sort of vaguelh created a bit of a grey zone in the map, but ultimately she thinks she was in the "Lillie" room top left.

How can I clue her up on map reality, basically?

Craft beer bars / bars for non-students!

Hoi! Coming over to a festival next month and looking for good craft beer recommendations in fairly central areas. We're in our 40s so not looking for student hangouts, ideally a couple of bars specialising in local craft beer.

Related question, we're staying in Bredestraat which feels pretty central, I guess there are decent options in the vicinity?
