I just got my A class driving licence and I'm considering getting a 696 for my first bike. I've never driven it. I did drive an SV650 once.
A few folks here told me that they're basically the same bike with different ownership cost. What do y'all think?
I just got my A class licence and I'm seriously considering buying a 696 as my first bike.
I have ~7h of riding time on the road, mostly on Yamaha XSR700.
There are a few points that I mainly worry about
Cost of ownership - Do monsters break often? Is the cost of repair really that bad? Are spare parts hard to come by?
Driving experience - to my knowledge, Ducatis have a more aggressive throttle than most Japanese bikes. Could it hinder my learning experience? Or even my enjoyment?
Repairability - apparently Ducatis are difficult or borderline impossible to repair on your own. As a beginner, is it okay to leave every repair to a dealership? Or is it important to learn basic repairs?
I'm not asking this to validate a decision I already made. I'm genuinely undecided whether to get a 696 or opt for a Japanese bike instead.
I want to buy a makers licence for $15 a month but whenever I go to checkout, this error occurs. I'm from Slovakia which is not listed among supported countries. I tried to change my location to Czech Republic in settings, I even set my location to CR with VPN. I used both Google and Firefox. And the issue persists. How do you solve this?
