Hospital birth record says 3 PM, but my entire life I used 2 PM for astrology — confused about what to trust
I’m honestly feeling really confused and shaken right now and wanted some opinions from people experienced with birth time accuracy and rectification.
For my entire life, my birth chart was made using a **2:00 PM** birth time. My parents had an astrologer make my chart when I was young, and all my astrology over the years has been based on that timing.
Recently, I decided to contact the hospital directly to get my exact birth time from their Medical Records Department (MRD). Since my birth was around 24 years ago, the records weren’t digital — they had to manually search old hard-copy archives/registers.
After a few days, they called me back and gave me a birth time of **3:00 PM**.
Now I feel completely thrown off because:
* my current chart changes a LOT with 3 PM
* some divisional charts are very different
* house placements shift
* Navamsa changes significantly
What makes this more confusing is that my mother was never completely consistent with the timing. Over the years she would sometimes say:
* 2 PM
* 2:45 PM
* “afternoon” etc.
So now I don’t know what to trust:
* the long-used 2 PM chart?
* my mother’s approximate memory?
* or the hospital archival record saying 3 PM?
The hospital record does include:
* my parents’ names
* DOB
* address
* gender
* and the 3 PM timing
But since it’s an old handwritten/manual record, I’m also wondering:
* how accurate were hospital-recorded birth times in the early 2000s?
* were they often rounded?
* should I treat 3 PM as exact or approximate?
Has anyone here gone through something similar where an official birth record contradicted the family’s remembered birth time?
How did you handle it astrologically?
