First and last hyper training I'll do..

Kind of lost the will to play... got majority of stuff I wanted, not chasing variants and costumed ones, semi-casual play. This hyper training has been somewhat a reason to turn it on past 2 months because I really wanted a shiny 100%, and now it's done feels like I completed the game.

Thankful for hard work - hopeful for quick fixes

At the start of the year, I decided I'll get myself Steam Deck. It went out of stock for a long time, and me being impatient - bought Ayaneo Slide - clueless about details like support, drivers, firmware..
Big mistake on my part assuming it would be all good, but here we are.

So I got a device that's plagued by so many issue I don't know where to start.. Touchscreen is present, but it never gets initialized since broken/modified version of update-locked Windows 10 it was shipped with. Brightness range is heavily compressed, sleep doesn't work on any OS, and SteamOS and other OS options had random reboots without acpi=strict, which made TDP changes also a pain. Using with Windows feels awfully clunky.. you get my point. I could go on, there's more issues and combinations of owhat works where, but you get my point.

And then, I discovered Bazzite. It wasn't perfect, but version 43 had brightness slider working a bit, it wouldn't randomly reboot, it had nice purple LED setting for analog sticks, I coud control TDP via HHD. Volume buttons were bound to vol+ and vol-, brightness range wasn't as compressed..

It was the best option for this weird little device, and I had hoped that update 44 would iron out these bugs that were left and bring it into the glory I wanted it to have.

But the opposite happened.. inputplumber overlay is bugged, opening it 2 times makes it freeze, TDP changes are gone, LED's are gone, brightness range is completely locked out.

My hope for a fixed touchscreen and working sleep gone.

I see a lot of work has gone into this project, and I'm thankful for it all, knowing how hard it must be to optimize this for all the devices.. but I honestly I had high hopes for this update, and I still hope it gets fixed soon. Because honestly, I'm out of options.

First G-Shock

Been on Casio W217H, decided it's time to upgrade - GBX-100NS-1ER. I've yet to discover all the functions.

dbrand made me like PS5 again

About a year ago, I bought PS5 Slim with Disc Drive.

Out of the box first disc installation made original Sony faceplates rattle: whenever drive would spin, it would transfer energy from clipping mechanism and from bottom faceplate to top. Original faceplates have a lot of wiggle room, aesthetic-wise they chose to have middle split on both sides I guess and it only made it worse.

I love having physical copies along with digital games, but the rattle made me really dislike the whole thing.

I've spent more time than I'd like to admit, trying to use isolation tape to fill in the gaps and stop it from vibrating, but even if I did do it, it overloaded the clipping mechanism and started to fall apart.

Said fuck it and ordered Slim Darkplates 2.0.. they arrived today. Installing them wasn't easy, I thought 1 clip was never going to fit, reseated the damned thing like 13 times. But it did fit. And oh boy did it fit.

Console is now dead silent, only thing I can hear while using the drive is the linear humm of the drive motor spinning.

Thank you dbrand, you fixed PS5 for me. And I'm absolutely disgusted by Sony's build quality.
